Cool Summit with Pro-line 40 Paddles

Going to go back and bash at the "play-ground" in the morning with my new paddles on... hopefully I will see better performance than my crawling tires and stock tires give me....

you should try going up a couple teeth on the pinion, with those tires you should be able to get away with at least 16T, but watch your temperature, those tires are high traction/high load.

PM REPLY: Q- Why does your summit sit so high? Is it so that you don't rub or what?

A: (wow -thats twice I was asked that Q) Mystery of the day.... I asked that too... everything is stock minus the tires (even spring adjustments from factory....) but it sits real high.... however when I accelerate or brake it squats just the same as everyone else's.... if you look a pictures of it muddy, it squats right back down like others I have seen... but dusty or clean it sits high.

I checked with a local hobby shop/ and some friends we think the springs are goofed... when compressed they feel harder than the other they had in the store... one of my friends swears my suspension seams larger... we just laugh and think he is nuts since it looks the same to everyone else.

we also noticed it's slower on speed but more torque than my friends running similar set-ups.... we tried a tug of war once (and never again - too much damage for not so much fun) they kept saying it takes 2 of their trucks to pull my one... again thats the same guy I mentioned earlier that we think is nuts...

40 series paddles off pede and put on summit... runs great but wheels are so light it tumbles easily on inclines ... the much heavier krawling tires I have kept it wheels down better. much better acceleration and climbing ability... I was able to go way up some of the steep hill sides of loose sand (20-25 feet though hard to tell in vid) that with other tires only did about 5-10 feet

BTW - also posted vid of pede with my "sand racing" set-up... its pretty fast even with a 6 or 7 cell. ( need to replace my shorted 9 cells or go lipo... I miss the all out speed of my pede)

Nice looking truck mate. I have a theory why your truck looks so high. New truck where the springs have not settled yet & also small wheels gives an illusion of height between the guards. Here is my Summit with small & large wheels on it. The suspension has not changed.

Looks like you might have broke part 5678 in the vid. If you lock your rear diff and one side starts pulling, thats it!

Thanks, i will gladly check it when I lube things for maintenance... how could you tell in vid? I did not notice that? I need to watch it again to see if I can see what you saw....

I know I stripped out the rim where the 17mm hex connects but definitely will check that this weekend when I can sit down and do some maintenance... its that time of the month for the full breakdown ...clean and maintain.

    Thanks again!
