Most will tell you the stock motor with stock gearing on 3s will run hot. That has been my experience as well.

Mine runs good with stock gearing. I cut a hole in the windshield. I am going to put a heatsink with a fan to make it more efficient.

Mine runs hot with 2s but they make some reallt nice fans the are formed to fit motor and will plug into the acc. port on the stock esc. about 20 dollars ar most LHC. Fan will not effect run time enough to notice.
