Does running in LVC cause higher temps?

I regularly check my temps while I'm running, and they're usually in the 115-130 range. The past couple of times when the ESC goes into LVC, and I drive the truck to where I am (maybe 20 feet) turn off the truck and then check the temps, they have shot up - once to 170

Once the truck slows to where I know LVC has kicked in, should I just stop immediately?

I noticed something similar back when I was running NiMh packs. After the pack dumped the motor temps seemed to rise a lot faster. If I ran the truck until it wouldn't move the motor temps where in the 170F range. If I stopped running as soon as the pack dumped and put a new pack in the motor would stay in the mid 150F range even with continuous running.

The motor actually continues to heat up after you stop running, since the air movement is gone. So if it goes into LVC, the motor gets less cooling already and starts heating up from the inside. It would do the same if you stopped mid-run, waited 5 mins and then checked the temps.

Plus running at lower voltage makes the motor run hotter, so it's a bit of both.
