    MMM/2650 and 2s 5000 20c lipos

    Hello everyone.

I am about to pull the trigger on the MMM/2650 combo for my 4x4 and was wondering if I will have any problems running 2s 5000mah 20c lipos? I want to make sure that they won't damage the motor.

Also, could you let me know what other parts I need to buy to get this thing going with my truck? I know that Traxxas part 5626 is a must to mount the motor.

    Thanks!

they will work fine. they might get a little warmer then the stock system but nothing to worry about. part 5626 is not necessary to mount the esc but it make it easy. you might get the revo slipper plates 5351 and pads 5352x or 5352R they will make your slipper work that much better because of the increased pad size. i smoked my orig slipper clutch today with my MMM/2650 it out a lot of power!

Thanks man.. Do you recommend the 2650 over the 2200? I might go 1/8 scale in the future and would just transfer it. I would rather have the 2650 on 2s though and could run the motor/esc with a 1/8 buggy/truggy.

    Thanks!

2650 only takes up to 4s and is faster then 2200. 2200 can take up to a 6s and is a torque monster. i just got the 2650 because Castle recommended it for the 4x4.

i think both motors would run fine in a 1/8 scale car buggy or truggy

If you want to run 2s and may run 3s then the 2650 is definetly the one, althought you haven't thought it you will want to try 4s once you own it.

The only reason I can see the 2200 is better for would be all out Speed Runs as it would be faster on 6s than the 2650 on 4s.

As Far as Heat goes, There is None!!!. On 2s which I run mine 40-50% time it barely breaks a 90deg, the ESC and Batt are just above ambiant temp. On 3s it might break 100deg and 4s normally is about 110 and has been as high as 125.

The Rustler Reciever box # 3628 mounts up front and will make it look stk. 2 screws are required for the small switch to mount to the ECS mount.

A Robinson Racing 8718 or 8719 pinion will be best to get you back to stk speed. If your only going to run 2s get a 8720 or 8721

You are about to make the single biggest improvement you can ever make to this Truck ..............................

you know, it would of been nice if traxxas molded an antenna mount on the rustler receiver box, people with 2.4 ghz-the wire doesn't reach the stock location

You can see in the pic on far right, I lined up the antenna wire with the top cover and drilled a hole slightly smaller than antenna and it fits/works excellent

yeah, maybe the traxxas systems antenna will reach, i use a futaba system (3pm), i just tucked the antenna in the box and don't have any range problems either (nice!) i used to be worried about this till they started making antenna-less receivers

Is the 2200 too much of a tight squeeze? The 2650 looks real close to the ESC.

    Thanks!

i would say the 2650 unless you going to run lipos over 4s. thats the motor castle recommends for the 4x4

Both fit with the Esc mount and reciever up front.

2650 on 4s will take you past 60mph, if your looking for more than that you'll need 2200 on 6s

2650 geared to 25p/50spur would and should probably be faster on 2s than the stk setup on 3s, cant say for sure I havent tried it yet.

2650, MMP, and 2S or you will need to upgrade the shocks. If not it will handle as good as this car.....

IMO 2650/MMM setup needs more then 20C batteries. Mine ran like a dog on my 5000mah 2S 20C batteries, switched to a quality 50C pack it was better but that system really needs 3S+ to run well.

I can only run 2S at my track, switched to the Novak HV 4.5, no looking back.

I use Ten-t shocks, IMO they are the best/money right now.

If you haven't picked up the MIP XD CVD's I would highly suggest them because your going to be snapping axle parts like twigs.
