Dremel tool-what model do u recommend

I need to get a dremel for use on my traxxas but I can't decide what model to buy. Want to stay under $100 and would like one with a cord. Any suggestions??

    I have a Multi-Pro and the press.

At least that's my setup (only the Dremel I have is the older version of the one linked above) and it's been great.

I have use it to drill holes in Lexan/aluminum. I also rotated the Dremel on the stand and left the Dremel stationary while I could easily sand out the wheel wells of my body.

I've owned both a Craftsman and a Dremel rotary tool, so that's all I can comment on. Both were essentially identical, although the Craftsman only lasted a couple years. I would say the basic requirements, regardless of brand, are corded and preferably adjustable speed. I would compare prices, warranty and supplied accessories and make a decision based on that. You should be able to get something decent for well less than $100, possibly even $50. I wouldn't even consider a cordless...the ones I've used are pathetically weak compared to a corded.

I use a Dremel 4000 and have the multi saw attachment and other accessories. The Dremel 4000 costs under $100 and comes in a case with several attachments. Theres so much you can do with it especially around the house. It's paid for itself. I'm looking to buy the work station and flex shaft in the next few weeks. It's a great system to use.

I've never owned a dremel but I have so many grinding/clean-up jobs backed up that I really need one. I'm sure I'll find lots of other stuff for it once I buy one. Looks like i'll get the dremel 300 series, saw a couple rc'ers that have that model. thx.

You can't go wrong with the Dremel 300 series, it has all the accessories you would need to do any mod on any rc ...

    Great Choice, IMHO

I have a 10+v cordless Dremel (I think it is around 10v) that works great. Fully adjustable speed, battery lasts a long time and haven't had any issues with it at all.

My Dremel was passed onto me by my dad who passed away in 2000. He used it for many things. Now I've had it for 9 yrs it works like a champ. I never new what a gift I was given until I got into RC's again.

I don't think I've known anyone to have a bad experience with Dremel products.

Well I bought a dremel 300 yesterday and I love it. So far I've used it to router my battery trays so my new lipo's will fit. The power cables come out the side of the battery not the top or end so it wouldn't fit in the battery tray just right. On my first job I wasn't paying attention and chewed up part of the frame. But I'm better with it now.

The Dremel 300 was $39.99 at my local wally mart. I picked up an $8 tackle box to serve as the case, and got an attachment kit for about $15. Next job is to engrave my initials on the trucks...

Got the reinforced ones. Don't even waste your time with the non-reinforced ones as they break if you blow on them too hard. The reinforced ones hold up pretty well.
