Will this motor work with the stock ESC?

cm36s 5700kv 1/10 540size
will this motor mount directly to the stock motor plate and
will the stock velineon ESC be able to power it?
please advise

Ehhhhhh, the 5700 in a 2wd Rustler is not going to perform the same in a Slash 4x4... in the Slash 2wd yes...

That motor should run pretty hot, so gear way down to try it. The cool set up is the 550 size Novak super torque motors, or the high end Castle/Neu larger motors 1/8 scale size. They run nice and cool but you'd prob want to upgrade to a MMP or Novak Havoc.
