Please help!!! - New velineon installed but pinion issue???

    Hi all,

I just put a new Velineon motor in after the last ones bearing siezed and buggered up the motor...

While the car was apart - I cleaned every mm of the car and did bearings e.t.c what I noticed when I put the new motor back in is that the pinion gear is on the very edge of the motor shaft which means the pinion is 1mm away from the chassis.. With the old motor the pinion was more towards the motor than the spur gear, it's hard to explain but could someone please look at the pics and check to see if there is anything weird about this?? Have I missed something when mounting e.t.c?

I am not sure if this motors shaft is shorter with this particular motor but I would highly doubt there would be any differences considering its the same type of motor and same part #.

FYI this motor also has a different sound to it slightly deeper?

Flip your pinion around 180degrees. You can even see a mark in the shaft where the grub screw used to be screwed down.

    This is down right embarrassing

Spend to much time on everything and tried to get the motor in before dark and thats what happens.

Thanks turbowop, BTW is the SC10 body stronger than stock? I like the SC10 bodies and was going to get one..?

    Thanks again

Mine seems to be holding up okay, but it has all the same weaknesses as most other bodies. Reinforcement with duct tape or shoe goo is probably advisable before running it.
