    Getting one for a friend

    Hey,
I think i might be getting a slash 4x4, or a plat. edition for a friend. Im not up to date on the slash 4x4, but i remember it had some problems..Has the axles bending been solved? Aswell, has the problem of stones getting in the middle shaft/slipper nut been solved? Anything i should know to tell him about this car?

You're quite the friend. That's an expensive gift.

Axles still bend, small stones still get into the driveshaft.

The axle issue can be resolved with new ones since they're cheap, or stronger aftermarket replacements. As for the driveshaft debris, you can do an overtray (but suffer higher motor/esc temps), or some type of DIY mod to keep stuff out of there.

get an outerwear's to cover the chassis since they breath better than the overtray. Also, do tell them to do the tape mod. a search will show you how to do it, that'll keep rocks out of the front of the center drive shaft, then you'll have to do a mod for the rear space by the slipper clutch, some people are using foam in this spot, I used a small piece of Lexan, either would do fine as long as you plug up the space.
