    VXL problems!! Please chime in.

How many of you have had a problem with the VXL motor? I believe this is the worst thing that I have ever bought from Traxxas. Yes they run great if you get a good one. If not then it sucks for you.

Plenty of folks have run them for years without issues

Barring a manufacturing defect, improper use is usually the killer

    What happened to yours ?

I blew the shaft bearing out of one, and when I called Traxxas they told me I had to take the motor out and clean the bearing after EVERY 10 MINUTES OF TRACK TIME !!! I asked if he was serious and he said yes.

If your not willing to be conservative with the VXL, then it's not enough motor for the Slash 4x4. Telling people to maintain them more is a joke .

Maybe Traxxas should produce an 1/8 VXL motor. That could handle the 4x4 Slash,Revo,Emaxx, and Summit.

I race my Slash PE with the VXL system geared 14/52 on a 6000, 30C, 2S pack and it works GREAT! We run 6 minute qualifiers and 10 minute mains and no problems at all.

tiny ballbearings can only take so much, worse in dusty hot conditions
and half the time the 4X4 gearmesh is probably set too tight too

have blown & seized bearings, run the rotor magnet off the shaft,
blown FETs off the PCB in the ESC etc etc.... all on Novaks.
