    broken VXL motor

so just took my slash 4x4 outside to go for a run
went to pull away and it wasnt moving but i could hear the motor spinning, i could see the pinion want moving so i assumed the grub screw had come loose

so i brought it back in to find that the magnet has detached from the motor shaft about 2 weeks ago my VXL ESC broke aswell, really not impressed by traxxas electronics

its only glued on, im not sure wether to try glueing it back or not

ive kept an eye on the temperatures every run, never gone over 150*F and recently have been running a heatsink and fan which has kept it very cool

looks like mine did. heat is what made it come apart. dont think gluind will work. it has to be balanced for the rpm that it runs at. the small drops of glue on the top & bottom of the can are to balance it. you my friend need a new motor...

Hmm, it seems I may have the same problem with my motor

    http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=522955

Thing is, I had mine geared down for low off-road (13p/56s) and it wasn't running hot, but I did have to brake really hard to avoid a cat and the wheels locked up, sending my truck flipping end over end

I guessing the hard stop probably caused the rotor to spin loose on the shaft

What kind of shape are the bearings in with these rotor breakage?
Turbo in the front, groceries in the back.

I just took mine apart and even with all the shavings from the rotor disintegrating, both bearings spin perfectly fine

If everybody is having this problem maybe there should be a recall on them. Maybe Toyota made these for Traxxas. LOL. I had the same problem.
