Can't we all just get along?

When this forum was first started last week everything started off really good. Everyone was happy and polite and helpful. All was good.

Over the course of the past few days I have seen many folks just become downright rude to newcomers to r/c and each other alike. For no reason it seems too.

I hope that this place doesn't become a lousy festival of posturing and chest thumping rude folks who aren't helpful to others- especially new people to the sport. If new people (and veterans too) are treated badly here it reflects on the company (Traxxas) and the sport itself.

I hate that I even have to ask but would you folks please keep the above in mind when replying to even the seemingly simple questions. And above all, respect this place- it is yours!

your so right dude, this guy from another forum, hpi, yelled at me and called me an idiot an whatnot because i thought the hpi bodies came prepainted which it shows in all the pics. I mean i people like that blow. i really think they shouldn't even be here.

If your talking about the post were they guys looking for a good nitro 4-tec body , I feel that would be your fault . didn't call . And how would you feel if I went around saying a hate people at traxxas , because that's what you were doing to hpi and to me and and anyone at hpi , which is a lot . And then you said that there bodies came painted and tried to tell him not to buy an hpi body because of some untrue facts . the replier was just telling you that they aren't painted and not to dis hpi . And now you trying get the guy kicked out because he was just defending hpi and him self , what with that ?

What you said : althought i hate the people at hpi. They do have a nice selection of bodies. www.hpiracing.com then click on bodies, and then 200 mmm. They are prepainted and coem with stickers aleardy put on. Althought they look good, its always more fun to have one you made yourself.


reply : Ian... sorry bud, but they're NOT prepainted, and do NOT come with decals already on them. Try getting your facts before you spout off...
HPI bodies are great, they come with a protective film on the outside, and have pretty good detail for the price.
I have had my NRS4 for a year now, and it is VERY competitive, .. I have had GREAT support from HPI and the forum... it's a matter of respect...

i agree with dkelly this site was made for us and now you may ruin it for others but on the other hand no person that has a hpi car can come and talk about our cars this is our homepage not hpi's

I think of the HPI guys as potential traxxas customers! I would HOPE they'd come here to be impressed by the cars and the people on this forum. More sales = more hop-ups = happier traxxas customers!

Be nice to the HPI guys, they like r/c just like you.

I know Roadrunner personally, and can vouch for him that he wa NOT trying to insult you.

Let's all take a step back and remember this is supposed to be FUN. We can't take ourselves too seriously.... Christ-- I'm 30 years old and have 40 some-odd RC car TOYS. I've also got plans to get into planes... I should take myself seriously? Pffftttt......

it seems to me, that a couple of people have too much time on there hands. i have enjoyed this forum for as long as iv'e been a member. and i have never seen like this before. imo, if you are not posting to help, or have a question of your own that you need help on, your are not welcome here. yeah, you can bring in the free speech thing and all that but, iv'e read some of the posts, and they have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this hobby. these forums are to help people and to share in the fun.

Certainly nitroeater&dave are causing problems. If a mod/marshall reads this I think it is about time you banned them both. There is no need for this attacking of others in an online communtiy like we have. Please take action immediately.

I have always enjoyed the way we all share info on this website. I would hate to see taken away over a few bad apples. I second RC Rick's statement. If the good guys stick together the bad guys will be taken care of accordingly. My thoughts are this forum is here for us to share and discuss info on something we all enjoy and best of all its totally free, not to worry about how many posts we get and up the status. The status is there for the newer members to recognize the experienced drivers and their advice, not to look cool.
