    Unhappy HS-82mg Issues

I just purchased and installed a new HS-82mg into my merv and everything went fairly smooth except now when I turn on the radio and turn the wheels left and right it wont always center itself. It kinda stalls half way, makes some noise and wiggles a bit. It is like the servo is having a seizure or something. I read through the manual and tried to reprogram the radio\esc but nothing has seemed to help so far. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this or what I might have done wrong would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I am using the stock 2.4ghz traxxas radio. Thanks!

I have used a hs 82mg with a 27mhz control and when i switched to 2,4 i have issues. my conclusion is that the 2,4 is not getting along with the hitec 82. I have tested the 2,4 with a maxx servo and everything's working fine. Tell me if you have tried with other servon and how is working

The only other servo I have used is the stock one. If you seem to have the same problem maybe I will return the HS-82mg and try the HS-85mg. I heard that the HS-82mg is a little better servo but if it is not going to work properly then it is no use.

Today i have ordered 2 other servos...analogic ones...and i will tell if they have the same issues as the hitec. If they do probably the 2,4 is not build to get along with analogic servos...and just digital ones..probably just 2080 from traxxas
We'll se in short time more of this topics cose the 2,4 is qute new and not very much standard servos have crushed so that the people with 2,4ghz to try something new.

So...i have oredered a couple of cheap servos and they work very well. The thing is that when i put tow of the they perfor as the hitec...with issues...and i have observed that the led from the rx is sometimes blinking in red during operations. But with only one everything is ok...no more problems. So my guess is that is something with the hitec servos

Is this servo waterproof? I love how the merv is waterproof, it gets dirty i hose it off and re oil everything. Some more steering torque would be nice, especially offroad, but i dont want to compromise being waterproof. Also is it a direct bolt in? For other hitec servos i have heard people had to either cut the servo or the chassis to get it to fit, and i dont want to be chopping apart my chassis.

I contacted Hitec through their web site and they said that their products have a 2 year warranty and to send it in to them so they can take a look at it and replace it if needs be. I am going to be sending it off tomorrow, I will do a update when I get it back and let you know what the verdict is.

My remote batteries are not that old. I have had the truck for a little over a month but only drove a hand full of times. Batteries in my past remotes have seemed to last quite a long time. Good idea tho, thanks for the thought!

i have an hs 85, works fine with my 27mhz traxxas radio and hte new 2.4 ghz traxxas link radio i just put in....

it is not waterproof, however, there are quite a few videos on youtube and quite a few writeups online on how to make it waterproof.... well, highly water -resistant... the stock one is water resistant, its electronic, it isn't going to work underwater....

Not a cheap option but an option. I replaced the stock servo with an Airtronics 94761 that was laying around. Strong, quick and Tiny. I've had this servo for awhile now, This servo has been in two other trucks we've run and it has't had a problem yet.

I've personally driven mine underwater dozens of times with the stock servo, and i've never had any problems

The receiver box on the other hand... not the same story
Never felt more accomplished when I break somethin
