I have a Nitro 4-tec and am consideing buying a Fail Safe. Does anyone have a Fail safe on their 4tec and if so, would you recommend one and what type for a good price?
I would like to know too!
Have u ever experience a runaway R/C CAR? I Did! A failsafe is usually connected to the throttle servo and then to the reciever.whenever there are glitches or some sort of interference, usually walkie talkies causes the worst interference OR weak reciever batteries OR u forgot to switch on the transmitter..ETC. The fail safe automatically functions by blocking the transmitter signal for a while and the throttle servo sets it self to a position that is set manually by "us",usually to the braking or neutral position. This prevents runaways....always good when you really love your car and you dont want any serious damages to your car and those expensive servos and recievers.Always remember once you realise the failsafe functions ,reach for your car and turn off the engine. You'll never know whats gonna happen !
There are built in failsafe on a reciever such as the one from warlock.I bought mine from kopropo, ive had it for months now on my4tec,so far i know i'm always on the safe side.Check ur LHS OR websites for prices.Sorry, if this info is not enough.
I LOVE THIS HOBBY.
I have a 4-TEC and i had a run away with it which ended up in several broken parts so I hooked up my own fail safe. All I did was hooked an expansion spring onto the brake side of the servo arm on one side and hooked the other end to the spring on the gas tank cap. So now if I lose connection between me and my nitro screamer, the spring returns the throttle back to idle position and reduces the factor of me having another run away crash and burn experience!! Thank God 4 the person who invented the expansion spring!!!
