You wont nitice much of a difference by switching to a cvx 15. If i were you i would get a CV-R. With that engine you would definately see a difference!

i would recommend the CVR.12,with the release of the .15 CVR and the.12 TR,the cost of the .12CVR has come down.ihave been using it for a while now and i love it's power and reliabilty.

i have had no trouble with the cvr.12, it runs strong and steady, but remember like all nitro engines,if the weather changes, some retuning might be necessary.

trx2000, actually the price of the cvr.12 has dropped abit at tower hobbies. since the release of the .15 cvr and the rear exhaust .12TR,the .12 cvr can be bought for less that $130.00.that's pretty good! i paid $170.00 for mine new at a local shop, but again that was awhile back.

sorry, i didn't know that you wanted a pull start version.the .12cvr's at tower for less than $130.00 are the non-pull start versions.the one in my car is the non-pull start version also.i bought a starter box to help start my car and to me,it was a good investment.i have seen new racers at the track i race at with pullstart engines in their cars and soon they get so frustrated with it that they also end up with buying a starter box and/or change their engines to a non-pull start version.
If you are going to race,.15 might not be legal to race depending on the classes and rules that the track will be running. and ,if the track is small, you probably won't notice a difference in power between a .12 and .15 since you will not have enough room to really open up the engine.you can get a .12 to go just as fast as a .15 with the proper setup.like anything else,it all depends on gears, pipe, tuning, and most importantly-the driver!!

I believe pretty mcuh all tracks allow a .15 in a 1/10 scale car. I think that they will allow it because its an expensive part of your car, and it costs a lot to go from a .15 to a .12 (new engine). And i dont think a private rc track owner is going to care. Its either business or no business for the track owner. If there is a .21 in there, they wont allow it no matter what.

rc rick, at the track i race at,they pretty much let any mods. go for the 1/10th sedan class except for three things:
    1..12 engine size limit
    2.no foam tires allowed
    3.no can-am or GTP bodies,sedan type only.

    Quisan And Rick

Most tracks that run under ROAR rules , allow .12 and .15 that aren't big blocks. or wrongfully called .12-.15,

About the engines, I would recomend teh CV-R .12, is a good starting point, it have very good power. and it starting to gewt cheaper

You can get a starter box from $75.00 to 100.00 bucks

you also will need a charger for the battery.

It is a good investment, if you preapare the box correctly for your car, it will be very easy to start.
