    Wheelies with 2s

I have seen videos on YouTube of people pulling wheelies with their stock 4x4s running 2S LiPOs.
My truck will not even come close to pulling the wheels off the ground when I am running 2S. Is that normal? The truck seems fast, it just won't pick the wheels up.

Ya I really don't know how people are doing this either. I'm in the same boat, mine would never pull a wheelie on 2s. On 3s it definitely will if the tires hook up.

Mine pulls wheelies all day long on 2 cells!

Almost so much so I'm working on stoping this from happening....

    Keep twisting axles.

Is your truck totally stock? What gearing are you running?
I am running the stock 13/54 gearing. I have put on RPM A-Arms, blue Losi springs and have put 50wt oil in the shocks.

Tighten up your slipper clutch if that is what you desire.

I am running the slipper adjusted just as it was out of the box, i.e. tightened all the way up. It just seems odd that my truck doesn't have the power to pull the wheels up. That's really my main concern, not so much that I want to do wheelies, but I want to have the power to do them.

Because the wheels are small compared to most off road trucks its just going to spin. I run mine on grass and it has plenty power, but it does not have the grip.
On 3S it has awsome power but spins everywhere. The real fun is being able to power slide around corners at high speed. It is the best fun I have had with any car. Better than pulling wheelies.

its got to do with the pinion your running, and the tightness of the slipper

also the discharge rate of the 2s batteries are important

Mine will pull wheelies on hot asphalt with just 2s. As soon as the sun goes down or the clouds come over the asphalt cools off and no more wheelies. This is using stock rubber. Also if you raise you ride height all the way up it will rip wheelies easier. Mine will barely pull a wheelie on 3s with the suspension slammed for road driving and if I add some height it magically pulls wheelies again!

Several factors come into play here. Most have been mentioned. Tight slippers, high discharge rate batteries, and stiff rear suspension make for more wheelies. And for more straight tracking on 2 wheels, run heavier diff fluid ie. 30-50k
Drive it like you stole it or leave it shelved

discharge rate and slipper tightness. I think it comes from the factory with a 1/2 turn "back off" on the slipper.

I have my truck sitting pretty low to the ground, I guess that might be the main issue.

The whole reason I was concerned with the wheelies is because the truck should have enough power to do them, at least according to the YouTube videos I have seen. Mine doesn't appear to be as powerful though.

I will try lifting the truck up to about it's stock position to see if that helps things out.

The 12T pinion will give me more bottom end power, correct?

i pull wheelies with my 2s. I have one 2s that has a little higher discharge rate and it pulls a little better.
for tires i am running sand paws (in the grass) with 18/54 gearing. Also my slipper is adjusted like the book says to adjust it.
And I am at stock height. Now i dont pull all the time unless i have good traction in the grass. but i like the way its set up i can pull it up when i want to

I used to pull the front wheels off the ground with stock gearing and 2s lipo. Then the tires started wearing some and all the adjustments to the suspension lost the ability to pull wheelies. Best I can do is pull the left/right wheel off the ground when exiting a corner. If I land a jump right I can muster out a wheelie on occasion. Usually gets the crowds attention.

At 1st it could do them on carpet from a stand still, not any more but that wasn't my concern.

Wheelies suck after the first one......... Pretend you did that first one and enjoy driving your truck fast. Wheelies don't mean speed.

Haven't tried it with 2s, but stk pinion with 3s it rarel'y pulled wheelies, changed to the 18p pinion and couldn't keep the wheels down.

unfortunatly after 5-6 batteries it eventually destroyed the rear axles

My PE pulled wheelies on a 5000mAh 35C 2s pack until I switched out to the Center Diff, now it stays planted and grabs at the ground. Try it out on high grip asphalt, and it should do it no problem. How many C's is your pack? If it doesn't have a 35 or higher C rating, you probably don't have enough punch in the pack to wheelie. As Rush 2112 said, once you've done them a few times, it wears off and you just want to be able to keep the front end down. Also, remember, the easier you wheelie, the more likely you are to flip over when trying to blast out of corners since inertia has the truck moving upwards. Personally I rather keep all fours on the ground and drive fast. But if you're just bashing and dont intend on ever racing, they are fun to show off in front of other people.

Mine wheelies on 2s 25c packs. I have the slipper all the way down though. Everything is stock. On 3s the wheels are almost never on the ground on asphalt. LOL

This is on my venom 3s 20c pack. It was impossible to actually go full throttle on this particular parking lot. It had incredible grip and just instant wheelie at any speed.
