um esc, 3000 battery, bearings, 9tX4 mod motor, pro differentials, high speed tires, a rocket engine, lots of money. thats should do it

strong slicks, brushless motor, pro ball diferential gear (2), ball bearings, brushless motor and speed control, that should push you over 50, maybe even 60. I would gear a bit lower since the brushless motor is so powerful.

let me just say, if you get a brushless motor, you MUST also obtain new diffs, and definately steel drive shafts. also, 3000 batteries prolong run times, but a matched 2000 stick with a higher voltage rating charged at 5.5 amps will be faster than a run of the mill 3000 pack. i think if you had this you could hit 50:
orion 9 turn quad chrome modified motor
    ball bearings
top of the line sanyo 2400 matched cells charged at a high amperage
i would recomend a slipper clutch with that setup.
sway bars are a great investment but will not make top speed any faster
and an esc that will take the heat.

yeah a good 2400 will work. Like the ones made by sanyo and panasonic. I said 3000 cause if you are running that powerful of a motor your gonna want all the run time you can get. just a question...? how much do the sway bars help steering?

use a 10 cell stock metal hydride pack along with bearings a 6 turn p-94 motor and some people say you are going to need the pro ball diffs but i ran a 9 turn quad in my 4-tec for over a year and the diffs still work great

i'll be frank with you: a 50% 4tec is gonna be close to undriveable, and its gonna cost a bundle.

oops, forgot to say what u needed:
racing ESC (i use the Hitec HFX, and i love it, it was only $70): $60-170
    hot mod motor: over $40
    pro-ball diffs: $100
    bearings: $20-40
    good slicks (to control it):$20/pair
wheels to put slicks on: $7/pair
you could easily spend $400 on this project. I wouldn't go brushless, they are too expensive

    bearings for everything,
    proball diffs,
    a high speed servo,
a good ESC, like an LRP V7.1, or a Novak Cyclone,
convert your car to 200mm for more stability and better traction,
a stiffer chassis (get a custom graphite or carbon fibre chassis if you can afford it),
    a 7 turn motor,
some good wheels and tires and glue them on well,
and some good high voltage packs, like 1700, 2000 or 2400 (3000s have more mah but less voltage)
and a nice body to top it off,

    that should hit 50+ easly

Hey Zip, where do you get a stock 10-cell battery?
Did you mess up, or is there really a place?

to answer your question about the 10 cell pack i meant a custom battery pack i made one out of 1500mah cells but i wouldnt have enough money to buy 10 SMH cells but you would do it the same way as you would with 1500mah cells also you would need to get a charger that could handle it or you could do like I did and make a regular 6 cell battery pack and then connected it to a 4 cell pack using deans plugs then just charge each pack by itself

and when I said "stock" I meant it as in panasonic's stock metal hydride cells they have voltage equal or higher than a ni-cd so that is why i recomended them
you might also ask how you could fit 10 cells on a 4 tec i just put the 6 cell pack in the regular place and mounted the 4 cell pack on the top plate i had to remove the front belt and make it 2wd so that the pack would fit on the top one problem is that if you do use this setup the car doesn't handle as well and the motor brushes wear out VERY fast

www.raceprep.com that is where i saw a hex wind. they will personilize your motor with what you want, like turns and winds and some other stuff. i have an old one of there motors and they are pretty cool.

you know you could buy like a 6 turn then hand unwind it down to a 3 turn or somewhere around there it is possible a friend of mine at my track did it and it worked.

cool, how much run time did her get?

swaybars will help with the handling once the car gets up to these speeds, all they are is a few brackets and the bar itself=no heavy! i dont think it would make much of a difference
