Exclamation My Very Own Slash 4x4

As most may know, I've been testing my slash with a kershaw 9L brushless. Since my upgrades don't fit that thread, I've started my own build. Truck was picked up in a trade. I had about $150 in an amplifier and traded it for a NIP never opened Jerry Whechel Slash RTR. Within a month my upgrades are Proline Switches with Split Six beads, RPM blue Arms, TRX sways, RPM bumper w/flaps and Kesrshaw Designs 9L 2726kv motor.

Next I have an MMM setup waiting (2650kv) and Losi 8ight 2.0 shocks

As I have stated before, I'm lonely when it comes to this hobby. My wife hates it and my dad is too old to care about anything more than driving his Stampede
Just thought id share all my info, findings, and ideas with everyone since y'all are so nice!!

Well, looks good. Gave any thoughts on how you were going to mount the front shocks?

Some have made a flat shock tower extension, http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...2&postcount=68 I'm planning on having my shocktower made for my Maxxslash bigger, to incorporate the bigger shocks. I thought the backs fit fine.

Got my losi 8ights mounted. Front is a crude piece of aluminum but very sturdy.

Now its time for new shoes. Not sure what I'm gonna get yet.

Went to LHS and got some proline 17mm adapters, 6888x, RPM bumper and 1/8 Buggy dish wheels with Bowties. I love this setup way better than stock. Still gotta fine tune my suspension but overall its a 10 outta 10 for my needs!

Got it dialed in now! These bowties make a mess with the fine dirt spray that comes off of em.

Looking good, so how would you compare the KD 2726kv and the Mamba monster (2650kv?). Which do you like better for bashing?
Very interested to hear a comparison as I'm looking for something to solve my heat issue.

On 3s they are different of course. MMM has more torque in every aspect from takeoff to WOT. But I haven't tested the kershaw with my MMM esc yet so they may be alittle more similar. I know the MMM is insane though. You really gotta have throttle control whereas the kershaw is more like a slightly modified VXL motor. For a cheap replacement, go kershaw. For insane speed and endless torque go MMM. I would almost bet the kershaw performs better with MMM esc though. And you can run 6s on either one.

The 4-pole motor will make alot more torque, but is it usable?

I'd take some of that action, depending on what you consider better. I have actually found the VXL is really quite good at delivering the amps. Using a MM as a basis of comparison, the VXL and MMM will probably be quite close in performance, as far as punch and top speed is concerned.

You should of got Losi8 front shocks all around. They mount right up and thre is no need for any type of shock tower extension.

The front shocks on mine were stopping before all the travel was gone. That's why I made an extension.

Let me clarify my meaning lol. I meant the kershaw will prform better with the MMM esc compared to the kershaw with the VXL esc.

That's what I was talking about also. Going from a VXL esc to a MambaMax esc in my Rustler, I lost 2mph. Going from a MM to a MMMonster in my E-revo, I gained 3mph. Based on this, I'm figuring the difference will not be all that much, in these, going from a VXL to a MMM. I could be wrong, as I am assuming some things.

Hmmm. Who knows without exact same conditions with each esc. I know I like the MMM tunability and I finally figured out to work the field link
