    Center Diff Question

    been readin alot about center diff issues well i got one and not sure how to fix havent found the solution to this. seems my center diff is movin about 2.5mm back and forth in doing this it seems the set screw for the pinon gear is rubbin the spur gear edge question i have is how do i remove the center diff movenment have replace both input shaft and the plastic bushin also have install 4612 bearin for input shaft at bulkhead but this shaft movement isnt noticed in a new truck is any one else experience this and how has it been resolve thanks Loose1wheel

    i would think if you added a washer or 2 then it wouldn't move there for the grub screw wouldn't hit the spur gear.

    hmm maybe i didnt say it right ok it isnt a center diff but i guess a slipper assembly ok the input shaft travels about 2mm maybe a little more allowin the bushin and the bearin to just about come outta the bulk head causin the bushin to wear and the bearin to fail i have fixed the plastic bushin issue with a alumiun bushins but the travel i have allows dirt to get into bulk bearin carrier spot help help

    Cool i got it fixed just stupid mistake on my part

    woops it was my fault i measure wrong the distance from the nose of the plastic bushing to the tip of the crown lol just had to shim up the bushing about 1.5 and i had it fix acourse it took a couple attempts to make sure the correct torrance but finally i fixed it no more plastic bushing its aluminum now and works great lol had to make sure i put a new 4612 bearin in bulk head space . so thanks for the efforts u have made but the problem was solved thanks Loose
