    ***** Lipos

Is this the battery that will fit the 1/16 truck? The measurements seem close, but I wanted to make sure before I bought them.

These are 3s but they just came back in stock and "should" fit the merv. plus they are in the US so shipping is cheap I ordered 4 and am keeping my fingers crossed that I can squeeze them in.

I have 2 of these and they don't fit, the end of the pack where the internal connection between the cells is way to big.

What he said. Get SPC's they are $22 shipped and at your door in like 3 days. *****s and *******'s are ok you may save $2 or $3 but they take forever to come in stock and ship.

IF you want a legit battery get the BOOST pack off ebay. Its more expensive but you wont regret it. ALL lipos I have seen take some massaging to fit but its our only option for more power

I fully agree boosts are the bomb and I have a pair but I also like to go out and run for 3-4 hours. For that I utilize my stable of SPC's. In essence boosts are my sports car SPC's are my daily driver. I throw a ton of money at my rc's but having 5 pairs of boosts hurts any mans wallet.

So what size Boost 2s fit/perform best for the MERV. I think I might buy a pair of them. A link would be great;-)

I've had 20 or so deliveries from them in the last 2 years and none have taken longer than 8 days (if items are in stock)

Even recently when they had the issue with posting lipos my order which had a 5200mah 2s pack only took 11 days

Funny how these ***** battery threads always degenerate into some sort of ****ing contest by those who dont use them

Show me actual performance data of any other 20c pack that stacks up against them and I'll stop reccomending them

    Cheers

I'm not sure what kind of data you are looking for and I have no data logger available to me at the present. I have run seat of the pants comparisons with the only measuring device being a radar gun comparing various ***** and ******* packs against SPC packs in both 1/16th scale trucks like the MERV and 1/10th scale trucks like my rusty and a 1/8th scale buggy test. The SPC packs always come out on top. The performance difference I have seen is not huge it is rather slight I would say. To me the BIG difference between the HK packs and what I consider quality packs is usually in run time and the life span of the pack.

I'm not trying to change your mind, if you like them you should keep recommending them. To me they are what they are and the best thing about them is their price is so low.

My point is Dad people keep making silly little comments in ***** battery threads

If you dont like ***** packs or HK fine, no need to post stupid comments in the threads

SPC packs do sound like a nice product and I have no doubt I would have purchased them If I did not allready own the *****s

I live in Australia so its not really about supporting someone locally

For my own curiosity I would love to see a back to back test (wattmeter type) between the ***** 2s 2200mah and the SPC 2s 2300mah packs

In Australia we have a stupid supply chain to hobby stores that mean we pay huge markups on everything

My LHS sells 1500mah 2s packs for these cars for $40 each which is ridiculous

They also sell the swallow ac/dc v3 charger for $199

Imagine trying to tell a young kid that after forking out $400 on a 1/16 e-revo he now has to spend another $300 on batteries

I welcome the internet stores such as HK, hopefully they will bring our stores back to reality

I wish we had companies like SPC here, most of the batteries sold here under a name are rebadged

    Cheers

It is kind of the nature of the beast. It is not only *****/******* threads that the comments happen in. It happens in almost all battery threads or any type of thread where brands of about anything are compared or talked about. I cant count how many threads I have posted about a SPC pack only to have the *****/******* fans make the same kind of comments.

That is a pretty bold statement. IMO when a statement is so broad it simply is not true.

I don't know RC yet. (only been reintroduced to it for a few months) but I come from a very similar field. Computer modding, overclocking and "racing" (we call it benching).

The OEM thing is pretty well documented for PCs. Especially for things like power supplies. jonnyguru.com can open it up tell you who REALLY made the unit and you can work your way down the chain of the exact same PSUs without paying for the big brand name.

RAM is the same way. Get that probably useless heatsink off the ram and find out who actually made the ram chips (only 3-4 companies actual produce them and you can tell which model. I dont have to even pull heatsinks off of them. Unless its new I can run it, see what others are experiencing via benchmarks... try similar or different voltages and timings.. and KNOW who made my ram. Down to a model number. See rules bleow about warranty voiding stuff.

Where it all falls down though is customer service and warranties. These companies make an enormour profit margin off an item, but then they do stuff like "warranty for life." (Just register withing 30 days and we will replace your motherboard in 20 years when it no longer fits anything... lol.

If you are modding and overvolting and doing whatever else to an item. you dont RMA. That is a code of honor. (Now if you stay in specs.. in terms of computing. if its an "overclocking motherboard" they will fix it. But still you only do that crazy stuff when

    a) you own the item
    b) you can live without the item
    c) have an unnatural addiction to improving stuff
