    Sand in my Bearings

Is it even worth my time to try an clean my bearings or should replace them. The bearing that supports the center diff is the one that is shot. Its completely full of track sand.
Should I replace them as they fail with Traxxas componets or is there a more waterproof alternative.
    Thank you for your time

i don't know of any bearings that you can run through water without having to do maintenance, i replaced the same one because the stock one just didn't hold up, so i replaced it with a Boca ceramic bearing

Yes, I agree with Keithy....I made the mistake of running mine in a pond....just to see if it was waterproof, and now I am having to figure out where the heck the "tingy" sound is coming from....most likely my bearings. I am afraid I am going to have to buy all new bearings for my entire truck...but if I have to, then I have to.....

Just blow them clean with compressed air and then drown them in wd40 (or equivalent)

I'm taking care of my bearings this way, and it works pretty well, the problem is not really water coming in to the bearings, rather if it's not coming out.

I've been taking care of my bearings this way for several years, first on my skateboard for over ten years and now in my RC vehiclesl. Skateboard bearings is of course bigger, with bigger bearing balls, wich make them more durabel imo, but my rc bearings seems to do fine with the same treatment.
50 char sig is not enough!

Be careful with that...you blow them clean with compressed air, you risk the chance of blowing stuff past the gasket into the bearing and ruining it for good. I did the same thing....WD-40 also you have to be careful with because it can dry out your bearings.

Use a needle and remove the blue rubber seal.. clean the bearing with WD40 then blow dry again.. Now pack with a good Silicone grease by squishing it in with your fingers, Then re-install the blue rubber seal.. My slipper bearing is still going strong, pack after pack after pack.
Always in Trouble for trying to help out.
