    Tekin Rx8

I am going to get a tekin system. To those who have teking rx8 in their summit, what KV size would be good? And its truggy not buggy correct? I don't want it to be the fastest vehicle on the planet, but just want more speed and better acceleration. Please don't bother to sway me into CC MMM or ezrun. I have done the homework on the tekin performance wise vs the MMM and made the decision.

You will be falling deeply in love well I did

Yeah 2250kv for 4 cell Lipo. I use 16/65 will not gear for faster I think.

    ps keep us posted!

No real good reason to pass up the Tekin for a MMM other than cost maybe. Both seem to be excellent systems.

I'd be looking at the 2000 or 2250Kv motors myself (to go lower than 2000Kv I think would end up hurting your performance on 3s/4s).

Higher kV, less torque, more RPM per volt.

The goal is to play the match game. Everyone seems to agree that the 2250 is the ideal setup from the Tekin camp.

I'm going with the 2250 because it should have ample torque, and if I want more speed it can handle 6S.

I went for the 2250kv which imo is ideal for the big wagon as the summit!
perhaps even 2000kv would be even more ideal but hey! 2250kv works totally fine!
It's not blazing fast on 4s 16/65 but fast enough

You'll be very happy with a tekin setup I went with a 2000kv and I'm very happy with it. I'm just a basher so I wasn't looking for a speed demon . I wanted to have fun and be more realiable than the brushed setup and I put my truck away with a smile everytime I use it.

Ultimately, I want ~50mph out of my Summit so I think the 2250 will be an optimal choice.

The 2000kv motor is actually 2100kv due to production tweaks and improvements. The 2250kv is actually 2340kv for the same reason. The other kv's only saw very mild boosts in kv. The 2250 is wye wind and 2000 is delta wound if that makes a difference to anyone.

Wye would be what you want. I seem to recall reading somewhere the Wye wind has better low-end torque than the Delta (both did great for speed).

BOO HOO. Just cause the Cubs are way better than the Brewers. Truth will come out in a few days.

Yes and no. For the same # of turns a Wye will have more torque and less rpms. In this case the 2250 is a 1Y turns and the 2000 is a 2D turns. Since more turns results in more torque the extra turn, or 100% more turns, results in just as much if not more torque than the Wye motor.

Swedish on your set up (2000kv 4s 16/65) what kind of speed are you achieving? I just purchased a Tekin with a 9000kv motor for the extra torque but I still wanted to stay above 40mph - Did I buy into the correct ball park?

my bad 1900kv - i did Brian G calc and on 4s - with 24/54 It should do 45mph, good enough. I really wanted the additional torque, but speed is fun as well
