    batteries with brushless

so i asked a while ago about the batteries i should use with brushless
right now i have 2 venom 3000 NiMH 6 cell batteries
i plan to buy a venom 5000 NiMH monday then upgrade to brushless soon

but will i have any damage with the venom 3000 and the vxl brushless?

people said it would eat my batteries? whats this mean?

Stay away from Venom batteries altogether if you plan on going brushless. The Venom NIMH are made from the cheapest cells on the market and they cannot handle the high current draw from BL systems and they eventually will go bad or worse case scenario explode.

IMO Scrap your decision on buying the Venom 5000mah nimh pack and use the money on a better battery.

Venom Lipos on the other hand are decent packs. But if you want NIMH's for brushless, go with something built from EnerG cells.

Actually, a Pro MAtch 7 cell 4500 mah battery (very good battery) is probably cheaper than that Venom, and they are made with the EnerG cells. Plus, you can get a SPC 2s 8000 mah LiPo for about the same price as the Pro Match. Venom batts are cheaply made and are way overpriced. The two things Ive learned in this hobby are 1) Stay away from Venom and 2) stay away from Integy.

As stated earlier, scrap the venoms, and buy some good packs. ProMatch.com has excellent packs.

I have a couple of slashes one is still running the titan 12T the other a VXL

I ran Nimh batterys until a month or so when I discovered Lipo......... For the same price as decent Nimh batterys and charger you can get lipo

Lipo's & BL motors go together like PB&J, or a Sniper and a Ghille suit

Just to name a few brands

I personally run ******* 2s 20c 5000 mah lipos for $20.00ea you cant beat them if you can wait upto a month to get them
and for the nay sayers if there cheap batteries why do almost 2/3rds of the racers at my LHS use instead of name brand batteries

Wal-mart and other stores sell one time use debit cards and re-loadable debit cards. I use one from Wal-mart and it's $3 to get it and load it. There is also a $3 monthly fee if you get the re-loadable version.

If I didn't have a debit card I wouldn't have anything RC as my small town doesn't have a hobby shop.

scrap the nihms, you hardly have to take care of lipos more than them really. people make big fusses about mainting them perfectly, all you have to do is balance them everycharge( it never hurts to balance more tho) and try and stay away from water. simple really, at the *******s are very very cheap. I own 5, and they just rock.

A lipo charger will usually take care of the balancing during the charging process automatically. And yes, you can run them on stock.

Not all chargers balance. You may need a separate balancer. I use the Blinky balancer and have not had any issues.
