one thing after another with this truck...

So, i bought my truck used, about a month and a half ago paid $400 for it, bought a new chassis, servos, a-arms, dyed them all black, installed sway bars, did up a body with colour change paint (expensive stuff), the truck was beautiful and perfect, until i got my batteries, ***** 5k 2s 30c packs, plugged up 2 in series, all i got was flashing lights on the esc, all 3 lights randomly flashing, after a wahile i figured out it was a setting on my spektrum, i was relieved, only to get it programmed, go to fire it up a few days later, and NOTHING, zero response from the ESC... i am so furious with this thing right now, i was so excited to finally get one of these, and it's been nothing but a money pit hanging on my wall, hasn't moved 2 inches, it's already cost me well over $600 (incluidng the initial purchase) and will now cost me $200 for a new speed control (if/when i get one, it'll certainly not be a mamba i love my mamba max and sidewinder, but i guess every company has it's weak point... i'll go for the tekin this time)...

AND to top it all off, the thing killed one of my BRAND NEW servos, the thing was literally MINUTES old. another $20 down the tubes at the hands of the mamba.

    /rant

sorry for the long run-on story, i just needed to vent, i am so angry right now, at this point, i could have just bought a BNIB erbe from my LHS, and it would have been cheaper, and i would (hopefully) not be sitting here a month and a half later, with a shelf queen fit for the trash.

And no, i dont have a castle link, i programmed it manually when it was working for the brief time, and i really am not sure if i can spend another penny on this thing at this point.

I'm pretty confused on how all this is the MMM fault also what did it kill that you called a Brand New Speed controller for 20$
Sounds to me like you just made a bad purchase in the first place.

man that sucks... its been awhile since iv felt your pain but i have felt it before.

right now i got a 1:8 scale buggy that im going to be buying a esc/motor combo for it. im loving my mmm setup in my revo and its been going strong with the same batterys you have for some time now but im just to afraid to pick up an other mmm combo for the buggy.

funny how iv been seeing the ez runs sell for the same or alittle more then the mamba monsters lately.....

Sometimes when you buy something used your buying other peoples problems. That might be the reason you got it at $400. thats a awesome price for a ERBE.

I think stick with it. The E-Revo is a great car. There are consumables and ongoign repairs, but it's worth it. Once it's all up and running you can have your fun - then decide if you want to sell.

No doubt the former owner had issues with it and why they sold it.
A buddy of mine had nothing but issues with his castle stuff(more than once) and has switched all of his electric rides over to Novak systems and has nothing but good luck since.
The new novak systems are rugged and you could always pawn off the castle system for a fair price(once it's replaced) and then you will have a win-win situation.

Sounds like the Castle systems were a learning experience for him and he got it right by the time he went too Novak .

Just about everybody knows the Novak HV systems while OK are not even in the same class as the Mamba Monster system or the Tekin T8 system .

I am NOT bashing Novak's products , I run them in my Slash 4x4 , but for a heavy RC like an E REVO the Mamba or Tekin are a much better choice .

Is there a Hobby Shop nearby or maybe a race track where someone might have a Castle link or programming card you can use ? Its MUCH easier than trying too count flashes/beeps on the ESC when programming it and you can see exactly what each setting is at .

Check that your throttle/brake trim hasn't moved also as if its not in neutral when you turn on the ESC it wont arm .
At WARN 80% and climbing !

not worth it for me, i am in canada and it'd probably cost me almost $30 to ship it to castle, costing almost $100 to repair it, and i wouldn't even be able to resell a new one for $100, so it's hardly worth it for me.

like i said in my previous post, by the time i spend money on shipping and wait a MONTH to get the thing back, i wouldn't even be able to sell it for the $100 it cost me to have it repaired.

the ESC has zero response, wont blink a single light, the one servo i have left works fine, but the speed control does nothing at all.
