    Where to get 2.4ghz radio

    Hi all,
I am looking to buy the Traxxas 2.4ghz 2-channel radio for my new PE. I've been looking on Ebay and am not happy with the prices. People on here have said they've picked one up for about 60 dollars. Where?

Actually, do a little more looking on ebay and you will find it for around that. But, I would go with a DX3.0 or Futaba 3pm. Not much more, but much better.
    50 characters? Fail.

Yeah, if 15-20 dollars is "around."
What makes the radios you mentioned better? Is there something bad about the Traxxas one?

Be patient. I got one of mine from the bay for just over $60. That seems to be the price. I love mine and don't see the need to use anything else.

    It is still $66...
Anyway I think I should probably wait a while longer for the price to go down, as it is new and now it is coming with all the models.
I have a radio I can use for a while.

I got mine for $58 shipped. You just have to be patient!

When I did a search on ebay I used the words: traxxas 2.4ghz

Make sure you get the black "link" ones. I remember seeing some that were mixed. That one in the link above doesn't say "Link" on the transmitter and says it doesn't have the 20 model memory if that's important to you.

Once the newest 2.4gHz LINK systems start to flow out .... the single Rx bind 2.4gHz systems will fall drastically in price IMO.

Check out the sticky in the Traxxas radio forum for a complete explanation of ALL the different 2.4gHz systems now offered and offered in the past by Traxxas employee PeterV.

Knowing the subtle differences is the ONLY way to get the right Tx at the right price.

Hughes500Bob posted the answer to that in post #15. Here is the link to the radio forum explaining the differences. http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=510388

I don't understand why people aren't buying the traxxas system new... my lhs has them brand new for $75... it's a 2.4 radio, that's cheap! Buy it new from an lhs and you'll have cuctomer support to back it up, unlike buying off ebay.

In todays economy people want to save money and if you can get on ebay and win it for a few dollars cheaper than the local hobby shop then your doing good. The money you save can be used on different parts for your truck. Even if you do get a radio system on ebay you can still have traxxas customer support on it they dont know where you bought that radio for all they know it came with a truck you bought.

I got this radio http://cgi.ebay.com/Eurgle-2-4Ghz-3C...#ht_2967wt_939 and I like it a lot, it has lots of features, LCD window, 8 model memory, you can read the features in the link. I know its not a name brand but I had it for at least two months without a problem.

That thing looks goofy as heck and has $38 shipping. For not much more you can get a name brand model.

If you want a cheap name brand 2.4 radio that has nice features and 10 model memory look into this Airtronics unit.

I just purchased this on E-Bay. It was listed at $59.00

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It can't get better than this and it's the Transmitter/Receiver with the new Traxxas "Link" feature. Just thought I would share the info.

This will be going into my PE. Oh yeah!!! Can't wait!!!!

If you do a search and type in Traxxas 2.4, you'll get about 50-60 options.

    Hmmmm...
Pretty good price. Best I've seen in a while.
I still think I'll wait. I don't have the truck yet anyway and the price will still go down. (I hope!)

There are two versions of the TQ 2.4 that uses 4 batteries, just becauses it uses 4 batteries does not mean it's the HO link radio. There is the "Standard" radio that ships with the Slash and Summit, and the "High Output" with Link (20 model memory) that ships with the Slash 4x4 and others. They both use the new Link RX's but the standard has a shorter range and no model memory.

Yes shipping is high but for $60 bucks shipped and $10 for extra receivers. The price and features are better. It does not look that goofy in person.
