Well, i was at the Family Arena today doing some high speed passes in my tec pro, and then my servos lock up for just a second(dont have fail safe, just spring), and that cause it to hit a concrete light post at about 40mph So i run to my car which is blaring at highest RPM, with 3 wheels still on the car, barely. I shut off the engine faster than i could feel the burn, and i surveyed the damage.
I will need all new front suspension tower, bearing holder, suspension arm holder, and ti rods. The only broken parts are on the right side of the car. On the rear right, the bearing block had chipped allowing the pin and the suspension arm to come out, only damage. It tweaked my chassis, so ill have to tweak it back into shape. If you look at if from the rear, it looks like it has a slight twist in the chassis. Other damage was the pulley guide broke, and the steering linkage on the left side is a little screwy because it gives me more than enough caster, which it didnt before.
This was a pretty spectacular crash, and for a total of 55 bucks in repairs alone, not including a new fail safe, haha.
If anybody here does high speed passes, i would definately get AT LEAST a return spring, because all it takes is a little power outtage, or signal loss to cause a big pile of carnage. I think several people can tell you that there is no worse feeling than watching your prised possesion speed off at top speed, uncontrolled, and being badly damaged.
Watch out for those vertical slabs of concrete,
