I would like to thank Oggie for all his input, if it weren't for his advise I think I would of been posting these pic's on a"Paint Jobs Gone Wrong" post. Well here it is...

I took my old post mounts and doubled them up to give the body a little more height.

    Thanks for looking

body looks great....love the Monster theme!!!

fwiw....one other painting tip I didn't see mentioned is washing the inside with dish soap and water to remove all the oils from your fingers. This really gets those lexan bodies squeaky clean.

Great tips and advice from everyone on this post. Before I had no clue on how to paint these bodies now I have a general idea and I won't have a stupid basic painted body like I was originally going to have.

dang man, that looks good. this thread is old but worthy. I like the subaru style dc black white fade... I am going to try this sticker/mask kit on my next body. Currently I have a duplicate sticker kit that I used on a BAJR i painted which I am going to use on a proline ford fiesta rally car body to put on my slash 2wd build

check out the BAJR I did

I found that subaru style kit you have on ebay... thanks for doing this, I needed to see it. I won't use gold like you did but may add some blue. There is a blue DC logo on the door I think it could be tied in with more blue and Ford logos on a flotek raptor svt body. Thanks again!

Nice paint for a rattle can.
I usually spray dark colors first myself with an airbrush then heat gun in between coats. I can do the airbrushing in my basement without excess fumes and its much more controllable.

Im one to trim first too and use the lexan scissors only on the really tough spots. I just go around my lines with a good sharp exacto knife just outlining it with light to moderate pressure without trying to cut all the way through. When done you just snap it off and it leaves a nice clean line.
