I realize going back to a VXL is against the norm. But the whole reason I love the pede is simplicity. I don't have to think about it. It just works when I want it to, how I want it to. I ONLY run 2S and I don't need HUGE speeds to be happy to the reality of it is the VXL is exactly what I want. Even something as simple as the on/off button. I prefer that to the switch because theres less wires. Sounds silly but in my head it makes sense. I won't go back to a 2075 servo mind you. The savox 1258 is staying.

My shocks are just big bores... nothing special. I had the D8 shocks for a while but again, they were overkill and all the hassles with the mounts and trying to get them tuned... I eventually just gave up. There was nothing wrong with my big bores in the first place. Truck works great now as it sits. My only hope is that I don't get a dud VXL ESC... the guy I bought it from ran it on 2S and had no issues so I'm pretty confident that it will work fine. I never should have sold my old setup though. I should have just put it in a box and kept it. It worked PERFECT and had no issues at all.

Im actually considering trying out a different brand ESC just to try. Maybe a Venom 80 amp because its waterproof or a Duratrax (not the castle version) because its pretty simple... no bells and whistles. Not really sure if I want to go that route YET... but its a thought I was toying with.

Yeah, there's something to be said about the value of simplicity. I'm vexed into thinking that if I can eliminate motor temps, everything will be all right - until stuff starts breaking

The TRX bb comment is appreciated. That's what I've got now. Some new springs are in order and maybe some rebuild kits. Have you ever done that job? I'm hearing some scratching during the initial shock compression.

Oh man, that is some bad luck for sure. I'd imagine that you'll be just fine with the vxl, since you already know all the ins and outs of how to remedy the small issues it may have, the question is... Do you want to deal with any of those issues, especially after this stuff? I feel the same way as you do in regards to having the truck work when you need it to. It's irritating when something doesn't work and you're powerless to fix it yourself. hope you get it all sorted out at minimal expense. And if you do decide to go with the venom 80 amp esc, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it, it's been a very reliable system for me. If you have an element esc still kicking around, you should pair it with the vxl motor and run it on 3s a couple times, I'd love to hear your opinion. Good luck!

Pave man sorry to hear about the Castle woes. That is totally bad to have 2 bummed out ESC's within a short period of time with hardly any runtime on them. Even if they werent under the normal warranty period, maybe they will/ can do something for you. Probably not worth messing with the Sv2 ESC so much as they are fairly cheap, but maybe the MMP would be.

Well I just checked Castles website they want $75 to fix a non warranty MMP, that is more than the MMM for $70, wow. It would be better to just purchase a new one and have a warranty again..man.

I totally love the dreadedend Slayer links 5918x upgrade. I'm glad you jumped on the bandwagon and can test and let us know your thoughts on them. They are beefy and look good too. dread has put them through the paces and has been impressed with them. If anyone knows dread he doesnt baby his trucks.

Anyways kewl deal man. If you get the Venom 80A system, i'd like to see your writeup on it to. Its something i'd like to possibly run in the future.

Did you check the on and off switch? Solder those two wires together and check it.

^^^ I have never had a problem with castle switches, but 3 different problems at my track were fixed in the last couple of weeks by eliminating the switch on mmp's. It is worth a shot and does not void anything with castle as the techs will recommend to do it to new escs. Hope you get that figured out. I remember a while ago in so0me post somewhere that you were running your castle bec's at 6v. I did that via link and had all kinds of problems until I put it back to the factory 5.5v. Just something to think about.

Wow, I remember you said if I confirmed fitment on the pushrods, you would give them a try. Well you are, and I think your going to love them foe the durable piece they are. I've gouged the ano off, ripped ends out while the arms got torn off too but still, no bends or need for new.
