    Integy CVD vs traxxas CVD

    http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...%201/16%20REVO

    http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...%201/16%20REVO

    $29.99 vs $56.99

Did somebody try Integy CVD ?
Is traxxas CVD better for double price?
    tnx

the integy are more expensive i think.. the description says : Includes two as shown.. and the traxxas doesn't say but i assume there are 4 in the traxxas set

and if you look very closely at the provided pic, you can see it is the exact same pic used for both products.

    those aren't the integy shafts

linky i know these are for the slash, but the revo ones are the same. the cup attaches to the output shaft of the diff with a grub screw rather than the traxxas shafts that replace the output shaft/cup on the diff itself. they're a bit of a pain to install but i've been happy with the traxxas drives and integy center for some time now.

yes Integy only gives you 2 shafts so the price for 4 is similar . Traxxas ones take a while to install ........

Like Core said , The Integy one on the toyz doesnt have the right picture.
The integy ones are easier to install but they cost a little more since its for two only.
    So Integy : 59.98
    Vs
    Traxxas : 56.99

Ill go with Traxxas even if they are a pain to install.

    have at it then.

while you're installing them it's a great opportunity to..
    check bearings
    check diffs
    shim diffs
    change/add diff oil
    clean out bulks

...and possibly do other upgrade like rpm arms, hr carriers or center diff since most of the front & rear end will be broken down anyway.

i'd stick with the traxxas ones. the integy way of doing things means you still have to keep the pin screws. which means more parts to worry about if the pin screws fall out.

You need to disassemble the front and rear diffs (which require you to disassemble the front and rear gearboxes) to install the drive cups for the CVDs in the diffs. It's a much more solid design than adapting the drive cups to the stock diff outdrives.

Just emailed RJ at the toyz, and asked a few questions:
    1. Why the same picture is used for both.
    2. If they really include all 4 for $30
    3. If they replace the diff internals, or screw on like the stockers (I'm 99% positive they are like the stockers)

I actually saw the Traxxas ones as a great buy. If you buy online, I think the username is hopmeup, they give you the Traxxas CVD's to you for around $50 shipped. When I was in the process of installing, I got a chance to fill up my diffs and make sure everything was working properly. Plus it is actually fun to rip it apart . If it's your first time, it will take a while but your just learning how to do it. I spent around 6 hours on and off working on them, but was worth it. Since then I haven't drove it, so I don't have any feedback on them, but hopefully I will be receiving my motor wire converters tomorrow. They seem to be pretty good as far as strength.

for some reason i can see the end bits getting chewed off immediately. unrelated, but i once bought a similar dog bone set for my old tamiya, from year racing! (they have an exclamation mark in their name. i will refrain from using it now)

on a brushed setup with nimh batteries, the end pieces simply wore down to stumps. the metal was so soft i could almost cut it with scissors. it's like the metal was from a coat hanger and the paint made it look thicker. well annoyed, it took 3 week to arrive from hong kong, too.

Just ordered some Integy CVD's. They are cheaper than the traxxas ones, and since nobody has had issues with the centers, I figured I'll be the Guinea pig to try the outers.

I'll let everyone know how they are when they get here and take pics of them. By the pictures, they should be exactly like the traxxas ones.

Will do. The GPM ones look over engineered, and very heavy. I am hoping the integy ones are decent though.

They just got dropped off and to my surprise, they are not like the slash ones where you just replace the yoke. These also require disassembling of the diffs.

They look exactly like the Traxxas ones. Hopefully should install them today or tomorrow.

they look EXACTLY like the traxxas ones - even right down to the packaging foam.

is the axle itself metal like the traxxas one, or is it plastic here?

Just installed them. Installed just like the traxxas ones. I put 50k diff oil in the front and rear, and 100k in my center.

The look and work very well so far. Will have to see how they hold up.

Honestly, they look like they could be traxxas ones repackaged. even the foam they come in is like the traxxas stuff.

To be honest with you guys i own the traxxas CVD's. I bent the rears in less than 5 minutes. They are not that hot of a ticket for 50 bucks. Its a pain to put them on and pretty much useless if you do anything other than granny drive.............
