1. ## Noob question

How do you guys know the mah on the batteries? Is it from the chargers? Do multimeters give the mah of a battery?

2. It is listed right on the battery.. Its in Big Bold print and us used as the selling feature as much as the brand name.

3. No I have read some guys gettin batteries that were 5150mah on a rated 5000mah. Or something similar to that. Do you know what I mean?

4. A good quality battery may accept more than it is rated. The charger can tell you how many MAH were accepted. I have a couple 5000mah batteries that charge around 5100-5200, according to the charger.

5. AAHH. Okay thanks.

6. if you have a charger with a digital readout, some will tell you mah put in. If not, then you can mathematically do it. You need to know 2 things Amp charging at, then time charged.
Lets say you charged at
4a for 1hr= 4000mah
4a for 1hr 23 mins= 5,533mah
amps x (hrs+mins/60) x1000 is the fomula
4 x (83/60) x 1000
4 x 1.383 x 1000= 5533.3333333333
UNLESS it is a LiPo then, its harder to figure out because Lipo chargers charge CC-CV (Constant Current-Constant Voltage) mode. Meaning the current is high to start, then it backs down the current and applies constant voltage to top off the pack. Some good DMM's can measure mah in batteries too

7. Thanks Ken448! Good info there, exactly what I wanted to know.
