Disable failsafe in new Traxxas 2.4 link radio???

So I am trying to install a kill switch in my gas rc car, but it requires that the radio's failsafe be disabled. I am using the new Traxxas 2.4 ghz link radio (the one that comes with the new Slash 4x4). Can the failsafe be disabled on this radio (there is nothing about this in the radio manual)?

This is what it says in my Revo3.3 w/2.4Ghz. manual. I don't know if its the same for the "link" system. These are the directions to activate the failsafe, but if it's active it will deactivate it.

    TQ 2.4GHz Fail-Safe Operation:
When powered on, the receiver’s green LED will glow to indicate
fail-safe mode is active. If the LED glows red, the fail-safe mode has
been deactivated. Use these steps to reactivate the fail-safe system:
    1. Switch the transmitter and receiver on.
    2. Press and hold the receiver’s LINK button. The LED will flash once,
then turn off. Continue to hold the LINK button. After about three
seconds, the LED will flash on and off. It will continue flashing as
long as you hold the LINK button.
    3. Release the LINK button. The LED will now turn green and glow
steadily, indicating fail-safe mode is active.
    Thanks,

Well, it looks like the new Link radio must be different, this did not work. Thanks anyway though Ernestmellis.

Just an update. After a few conversations with the folks @ Traxxas, It is apparently not possible to dis-able the failsafe system on the new 2.4 "Link" radio. Bummer for me, as I really like this radio, but may be forced to switch to a different system so I can install a full kill switch.
