big bore shocks shorter than stockers???

FYI...I'm new and this is my 1st RC truck (not the PE). I bought the BB shocks and the fronts are shorter than the stock ones. I only did a quick measurement but the OAL is .125 shorter, between eyes it is about .100 and the exposed rod length is .04 shorter. If you include the .05 bumper, its about .100 less travel. Is this right?

No, they are exactly the same! I just checked my pede and rusty BB shocks.

Not mine I'm a toolmaker and even though it was a quick measurement, I'm sure it's real close. Anybody else?

Are you sure you got the set specifically for the slash?

I know I saw this on another thread but cannot find it - Bog Bores are shorter by design than stock 4 X 4

I have a RTR and PE they are definately different

This may explain why the pro set-ups reccomend lengthening the BB a few threads if you are running them

I have the RTR and the PE too, and noticed right away that the Big Bores are quite a bit shorter. I posted that information right after christmas. I ended up selling the front big bores and just using the stock ultra shocks that have more travel and better ride height.

The BIG BORE is actually shorter AND narrower than stock plastic set. and majority of traxxas fans seems ok with it
