dropped my *****

So i dropped my ***** today... from about 4 ft onto concrete. It hit right on the end and crushed a little of one of the cells... on the end.

It didnt blow up.
It didnt get hot
It took a full charge with no issues.

was i lucky?
or is the explosion soon to come?

i dropped a ***** 3s 2200 out of a plane, about 40ft, onto a football field. distorted a bit, did some damage to the shrinkwrap and tape they used to construct it, but took a charge, no leaks, all is good in my book.

I landed my Slow Stick in the parking lot of the apartment here and the landing went a little long and the end of my LiPo hit the curb, just denting the end of it. With an 11 month old boy and all our stuff at home, I wasn't going to take the chance of something happening so I took it to Interstate Battery to have them properly dispose of it. Could it have worked just fine for many more cycles? Possibly. Could it have gone up in flames on the next charge? Probably not but it's not out of the question. Do I want to risk the chance of catching our apartment on fire, putting my family (as well as other tenants) at risk because of something I can replace for $30 from Hobby City or somewhere else? Absolutely not.
I personally, don't take risks so I wouldn't use it but ultimately, it's up to you. Glad everything was fine for you though and I hope you get good use out of it if you decide to keep it going.

I would go with fatboy and not take the risk. Even with the LiPo sack I still don't feel 100% safe.

If the cells are deformed in any way such as dents, bent, or crushed in any manner I dont think it is worth the risk.

so.. im assuming that the real risk of it puffing or blowing is when it is being charged or discharged.
No problem charging...
ill keep an eye on it the first run.

my bet is its fine.
those other pics yall posted are bad.

Can you smell any chemical near the crushed part? IF it hasn't ruptured it might be OK for a while, just make sure to keep that battery in a fire safe place when it isn't in the car. When you run the car make sure to have a video cam on stand by so you can film the FIRE! Woot woot!

You could always just cut off the shrink wrap and give it a peep to see if it has been ruptured.

Seriously though, Looks like there is no damage to the cells themselves. But without the shrinkwrap removed, its hard to be positive. HAve you charged it yet?

ive charged it already... no issues.
Im gonna run that bad boy and keep a camara close by for the fireworks!!!

That happened to one of my *****'s, it's held up fine since then. You'll be ok =)
