lipo capacity question..for the MMM in a Slash

what battery size do we need for the MMM combos for the Slash?
for the 2650 =?
for the 2200 =?

I ask this because this it was a bis issue in the ERBE THREADS..

Anybody know what the 2650 "needs" on 2S in our trucks I know the weight isnt there so the loads wont be as high...

is 125 amps enough?? I thought Castle recommended at least 80ish but I am not sure...

castle says MIN of 75. I have heard in the ERBE forum that is not enough though..

Well of course what your doing must be considered. But IMO anything accurately rated at 4000mah 20c or above would suffice.

2650 on 2s is gunna be horrible. It would be faster with a brushed motor on a 6 cell nicd pack. On 3s its gunna be mild at best.

5000mah 20c is more than enough, whatever you decide to do. The 2s deal is gunna create a ton of heat, and chances are something will fry. Stock would be much faster.

Being that it's a 4-pole motor the 2650 will be fine on 2s, and has more capabilty for speed then the VXL setup. The heat will be non existant since the load will be no higher, andd the motor will disipate heat better.

Now if it was a 2-pole motor you might be right, but in this case the 2650 will be better.

I think there has been enough posts on here to prove that 2S will be good. When geared correctly, it will be a little milder on the indoor track adn can be geared higher for outside..

AND how is 2S going to generate a TON of heat? I just wonder why you made that claim?

I have the MMM 2650 in one of my slash 4x4's and it is pretty slow on 2s even with the 22t pinion. On 3s with the 22t pinion its very comparable to the the stock vxl with the 13t pinion. I use ******* 5000mah 2,3, and 4s 20c lipo's with no problems. The 4s with 22t pinion gets the truck close to 60mph!

What about a 22/50 combo??

If it ends up not working out, I will put it in my basher and run 3S geared up for fun or even 4S for a good, reliable basher with long run times and no heat...I want to at least try the 2650 on the track. In my circumstances, the VXL motor is a lot for my track. Its tight. Now that is inside. Outside in the Spring may be a different story!
