Wow!!,what a difference, M3 Bowties

Pre-mount Bow Ties came yesterday but I have not run them yet!

But all I can say is they MUST HELP. They are so much softer and have a lot more grip when you run your hand across them as compared to the S1 tires..

I will report back after Thursday if I get to the track.

They will help greatly! I use the goosebumps and they help with every aspect of the trucks characteristics! Turns better, takes off straight, less pushing in the corners, and overall better handling...watch the wheelies, on 3s at least!

I know the body is nothing special, but I like yellow and it will help me pick my truck out of a pack on the track, LOL

M3 BT's are the best SCT tire in hard packed with loose dirt on top, as well as hard packed moist clay, IMO. No need for any other tire setup for me!!

I like those CF rings, I may get some!

Does the extra weight help at all with handling?

I know when getting into racing weight is an issue.

What has been your experience with these CF rings?

The CF rings are awesome. They have handles really well, I have scrapped them down a center block wall and all it did is take the paint off the wall!!! and nothing at all to the rings and the weight saved is just crazy compared the the stainless rings i had. I do plan on mostly racing so weight is a huge issue of course. the cf rings are the best thing i have bought so far. I have bent a total of 5 axles and they show no sign of giving up.

I am really looking to get some bowties or the new calibers. I can't really decide yet but both look very good. Also, which would be better, the M3 compound or the M2? Isn't the M2 harder? I guess that would make it last longer...

M2 is harder, is good for all around running. M3 is awesome race track tire.

M3 is softer, which gives the tire better grip but fadter wear.

Ya, I'll probably go with the M3 considering I'll just use the stock ones for bashing and the Bowties for racing only.

I was at the track tonight. These tires brought this truck to LIFE!

All the adjustments I made were nothing in comparison than just changing tires..

If you are thinking about it, go for it!

Next step is a few Diff fluid changes, I am getting it there!!

You know I was thinking about getting a set of Calibers...but after doing some research, and since I'm probably going to be racing on a track most of the time, I think I'm going to go with M3 Bowties for the track on a set of Split Six rims and keep the stock tires for bashing.

Eventually I plan to get a PE and use THAT for racing and use my RTR for bashing. But that's a way off yet. Luckily for me I just got a contract doing sound for a local venue that hosts MMA Fights. That should make me enough cash to afford to deck out a PE!

For me, I like the Calibers better than the Bowties. I run the M3 compounds on both my Slash and 1/8 buggy.

Why do you like them better? I am ordering a second set of tires for the track, to have options. I was originally going to get another identical set of bowties to have spares. Will I like the caliber that much better?

What conditions do you like them better in?

I have bowties and Calibers and the calibers are a better tire in pretty much any racing condition. They kill the stock tires!!

Hmmm...perhaps I should rethink my purchase of Bowties then? How long do M3 Calibers typically last if you run them only on dirt? I would assume that from the tread difference the Bowties last longer than the Calibers?

either way, I think you will be happy. I may get Calibers and see where that goes...

This truck def benefits from M3 tires, without a shadow of a doubt!

If I can get just a little less push I would be happy....

I didn't comment before on this but on the straight at the track, it accelerated better, more controlled.

I think the back is a little loose still but I am thinking when the 2650 goes in the lower KV motor will help me control a little better...

They seem to hook up much better in varying conditions....especially in the corners. I like the Bow Ties too, but at the moment,for me, the Calibers seem to be a little better. The one thing I did find out yesterday about the Calibers is, if the track is a little too wet, the Calibers seem to pack a lot easier than the Bow Ties...it didn't seem to want to shed the dirt as easy as the Bow Ties.
