how do i not rip my tires?

    hey again...

so as i stated in my maximizer thread i have some of them "egging" meaning wobbling from L to R when under throttle...

when inspecting 10min ago i saw that the tires on all 4 wheels are ripped...
will post a pic of it soon...

im really really unhappy (mildly said-warning level too high) about that

after bagging the stock tires-also due to 17mm adapters- but mainly because my stocks ripped apart with stock NON-BL setup and 4s lipos!!!

they ripped apart right outside the rim, before the tires goes "vertical" if you can say so...just right outside the rims...all of them......

i bought mashers and roadrages with maximizers / crimefighters and badlands with rulux´s, both 1/2 offset

i gave the mashers about 5 batt changes and now im at the same point....
1 of my tires is egging really hard, 2 a bit, 1 seems ok...

BUT ALL OF THEM ARE RIPPED AS THE STOCK ONES

    what the heeeck...
am i doing sth wrong?are there better tires than rpm?
i dunno - i thought i made a good choice but seeing this makes me really sad... is there any way to prevent this?

also by the amount of users here i thought this would have happened before, but i didnt see any posts on that issue before..
even more as many of you go 6s constantly and i went 4s, 1 time 5s...

    gearing 56/18, mmm 2200kv...

    help pls!!!

Pictures would help a lot, but did you use the plastic ring that goes behind the tire on the rim, that plastic ring is made to so you have a very tight fit on the tire beads. I have mounted and run countless Maxmizers with Badlands/Crimefighters/Mashers and not once did my tires rip apart.

are they taped? I've noticed that aside from preventing ballooning at high speed, taping seems to distribute the rotational force more evenly around the bead of the tire so they hold up better.

    yes i used the shims...
yes i taped them with good ducttape...

onlything i can think of causing the prob is the egging tires,...but the "not so much egging" tires are not ripped less than the one thats really egging hard

From the pictures, I would be willing to say, that the tear in those tires is from tire roll, when you are turning and the sidewall rolls, that's why it's best to get tires with a short sidewall and make sure the tire isn't 1 1/2" wider then the rims (3/4" each side), if you do have that much tire sticking out from the rim, they will roll everytime.

Strange, i thought mashers and maximizers where a common combo...
Which rims would you suggest to use with mashers?
Yes they are balanced, and i just saw that the tire thats egging is the one with least rips, so it cant be that...
The rolling seems a good explanation, bu i guess to prevent that the rims should be wider?

I have ran that combo of Masher/Maximizers & Badlands/Maximizers without my tires tearing, although Mashers are a very nice tire, all the ones I have mounted have a lot of tire roll from the sidewall not being stiffer and from it being wide. The thing about mounting beadlocks is you have to make sure the tire is perfectly installed on the rims. I run Proline LPR Crimefighters on White Velocity 1/2" off-set rims (PRE-GLUED), I hate glueing tires, because they have hardly any tire roll whatsoever!!!! Here is what I run: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...SEARCH=1141-14 and they are mainly for dirt, I run them on both the dirt and asphalt. You probably got those tears from a combo of turning at high speeds and if they were not mounted just right.

    Hmmm
so if i get this right the problem comes drom the tires only-it wouldnt make any difference to put them on another rim since the sidewall area size would be the same?

I will try to remount them as soon as new screws arrive-anyway as said 3 of them look good and also have rips... Dunno why others didnt share that experience..

My mashers I glued on some proline wheels are fine no ripping. Maybe you can contact proline and see if they know what might have happened.

ive hears of this problem from lots of people at my lhs. i was told to only use tires that were preglued from factory to the tire you wanted..now im only 4 days in with my e-revo and i have worn the tires prety bad. they all wobbled brand new. i cant see it at any speed the truck smooths out. i was told when i would be wheelieing is when i would rip a front tire??? i dont know.. i just turned punch control up pretty high to help with the insane wheelies and it seems to be working fine even with wobbling tires which i tried to get them warrantied.only thing every truck in the display that had that large of a tire none were really even better. im lost with it.. anyone who has good info. im all ears.

Yeah i will also contact pl on the issue
also i ahve mounted roadrages on the max's and i think i wont run em before i have a solution... With more traction ill rip them even quicker...

What rims would be a solution to lessen the sidewalls? Like with the inner bead of the halfups and badlands mounting , where the sidewalls would be less??

Heres a suggestion I would ask you and everyone else to do. Call the customer support line for your favorite brand of tires and ask to speak to someone who takes customer comments. Then immediately curse them out for being slow to introduce belted tires to market.

His sidewall is tearing not the tread. Belted tires wouldn't help in this situation. They must be mounted wrong or something because a lot of people run mashers and this is the first time I have heard of this problem.

Steve. The stock tires are crappy tires and they will blow out if you hammer the throttle in the air. Get some proline tires and tape them before you mount them on the wheel and you shouldn't have any problems

Ok thx i wrote pl..lets see what they say...
I will look forthe pl wheels, but i guess they're the same size as the max's and i mounted those correctly, balanced and fitting all perfect, though j havethe wobbling tires and i dunno what causes that...
