Hard Core Summit Owner thinks about slash 4x4

    Hi All,

I wanted to get opinions on the new slash 4x4 from fellow summit owners.

I love my summit and am not getting rid of it but have lust for somthing new, so ive spotted the 4x4 slash and reckon it might be right.

Im a basher and my local bashing area is not that flat but you can run smaller cars quite easily, you need about twice the ground clearance of a typical 1/10th scale buggy.

There are opportunities for speed but also many for getting stuck. Also there's lots of bad weather and hence wet sand/mud.

Does the slash get stuck a lot, offroad?
Do you need a flat (ish) dirt track?
Will it cope with the odd hill climb (dash rather than crawl obviously)?

Thanks for reading, any opinions welcome,
    Paul.

if you like speed and then it is a bargain price for the speed, for track it may be just to fast. Also a center diff will be a must to keep the power under control. My boy has one as well as a summit and i think is is a nice truck.

I was thinking about getting a 4x4 Slash, but now I'm leaning toward putting a Tekin RX8 brushless system in my Summit and swap to some more track-appropriate tires.

Brushless will definitely add some speed and excitement. Put on some 6"-ish sized tires and a front swaybar and it'll become a completely different beast, but still a beast. I do this and add 3S when I want to do speed runs and get big air.

if you want a race truck for the track then why turn ur summit ito that truck and not just get a slash??

I think the Summit has better handling than the Slash.
