Post What tireoptions, keeping scale look??

I want to keep the scale look on my new slash, but i really dont like the tires that came with the truck (PE, S1 tires). To hard rubber, no good grip.
The rims look good, those I can continue using.
Pro-lines rims look good to, so rims are not a problem finding.
    The problem is tires.

I race on a grasstrack, bash on everything, mostly gravel.
We plan on adding sections with sand/dirt to our track.

Regular 2.2"/2.2" wheels do not fit in the front due to the large C-hubs...
1/8th scale wheels look weird on the slash. To much rims and to little tire.

All I can find is three different 2.2"/3.0" tires from pro-line.
The calibers would probably be a good choise for grass.. but wouldnt last 5 minutes on gravel.
Switch looks alot like slash originals, perhaps a bit better grip?
Probably not that good on grass..

Bow-tie looks ok, but how does it hold up?

Losi have a tire made for their SC truck to but it looks like it would have worse grip than slash originals.

Are there any other brand I have missed?
Less than five different tires to choose from when going with scale look?

On my 2wd slash I liked the pro-line gladiator in the rear. Good on most surfaces. Dirt paws are wonderful on grass/dirt but instantly dies on gravel.

    Help me out now!

    --------

I found some info in this thread

have you looked at proline switch? they look good for anywhere.
yeah i do..i got those and drove them on the street for two battery packs and the tires were almost bald they are super soft compound

Seems someone like the SC10 tires to,
The sc10 tires are great, i have them on my sc10 and they seriously grip and could use on the pavement which i do not do normally. I keep my trucks always on dirt.

I put some HPI Blitz Wheels and Tires on mine, they hook up pretty good, and I like how they look.

I have some Jconcepts "Goose bumps" on order for my slash to help with the traction, these are meant to have a sticky compound that helps grip better on loose surfaces. I hear the pro-line bow tie's are good as well.

I run the Goose Bumps on my 4x4, and they are awesome! But on really hard surfaces they will wear quickly.
Break it, so you can upgrade it!

Thank you guys, gives me some more options.

Westgraphix; How would you discribe the difference of the slash originals to the blitz? Those look very good on the slash.

Goosebumps might work on our grasstrack, question is if they are better, the same or worse than pro-line caliber.

I think I will have to buy two sets of wheels no matter what.
One set for our track and one set for allround bashing.
To bad the 2.2/3.0 sets are really expensive..

They are a little softer, they seemed to get a little more traction on the indoor clay track I run on. They fit perfect too, the offset is correct so no rubbing issues.

    Allright, softer is good.
They are similar to tractor tires and that means good forward bite.
Looks like they might have a bit bad side grip? Or didnt you feel any difference from the original slash tires?

I will look around some more first, but maybe Ill try them out for bashing.
Have to look at ofnas and kyoshos tires to, havent done that just yet.

    Thank you for your replies!
