Mamba & 6900 Motor too much?

As title states, will I find this combo overkill? Its already in another SC truck so its not like I have to go out and buy it.

I'm worried a little about temps as this thing runs silly hot if I don't gear it right.

Not a basher, I race for fun on a medium sized indoor track.

Any thoughts?

I can get my 5700 close to 180 on 2S thrashing around the yard. I think heat will be a problem for you. Since you already have it, try it and let us know how it goes (checking temps often of course!).

Guess Ill be the crash test dummy for you all. I'm only running 2s lipos, which is all the 6900 is rated for anyway.

The 5700, which I cooked and am waiting for a replacment, will run 3s.

Come on mail man, bring me my Slash.

Be prepared to cook another 5700 on 3s in this truck, unless you don't plan on running for more than a few minutes at a time. 10 minutes and you will need a fire extinquisher.

Strike my 3s comment. The motor is rated to take it but i'm not planning on running those.

It would be run for a few minutes though.

If you are getting hot, go to a smaller pinion

make sure you have oven mits on when you fell the motor to see if its hot, if its not already on fire...
