Rc solutions roll cage and no body?

Does anyone run the rc solutions roll cage without a body? Everything should be protected in a bad landing or rollover. I'm just curious how the truck would run without the body.

Can't say from personal experience but I would expect it to work fine. The only problems I can see are getting way more debris in the truck and it would allow branches and sticks to poke wires more easily.

Should keep your temps down though.

i don't think that it is a good idea to run the cage without a body ...i remember reading on the site i got my cage not to run without the body B/c the body when use over the cage will make the truck slide on surface's and without the body it will make the cage dig in and make it bend easier ...

wait it say's this in the manual LOL

Funny they say that the cage will bend easier without the body when they have a pic of a guy and a truck on top of the cage...

but they show that with the truck not moving ...the problem is if your going fast when you roll over and the cage digs into the dirt/asphalt it's gonna bend b/c it will not slide across the surface but instead dig in

Well I own one and have run it without a body many times. IT has NOT ever bend on me but has gotten a kind of filed down look to the sides of the cage that slides across pavement. I solved this problem by installing left over pieces of extended ProLine body mount to the back bumper side of the roll bar behind the servos. So instead of the actual cage sliding on pavement the pieces of plastic are acting like sliders preserving the cage from needless scratches. And I have never seen my roll cage be able to dig into pavement it just slides across it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like I will just have to try and run it without the body. As stiff as this cage is I don't see a rollover bending it there are to many cross braces.

without body on, it won't slide and will break roll cage. just my opinion.

I have run mine quite a few times without any damage, that roll cage is designed to be very strong unlike others that have tried to make them. The flat stock aluminum is running vertical and it is very hard to bend it being vertical, now if the main beams were horizontal then yes it would probably bend. The only think about running without a body is you scratch up the top of the roll cage. But it is bar none the best roll cage I have seen made for any RC vehicles.
