YEah it's funny but the old one is more expensive than the new one.

Check that, I see the first links are for just the Tx I think. But I did find links for the system at $85.99 for 2 channel and $102.00 for the four channel.

they wanna promote the new and improved radio to compete against other radio systems out there, so they HAD to drop the price...

the one that sells for 74.99 is transmitter only, no receiver.

2208 TQ 2.4GHz High Output radio system w/ Traxxas Link (4-ch. transmitter, 5-ch. micro receiver) $150.00
2209 TQ 2.4GHz High Output radio system w/ Traxxas Link (2-ch. transmitter, 5-ch. micro receiver) $125.00
2240 Transmitter, TQ 2.4GHz High Output with Traxxas Link, 4-channel high-output (transmitter only) $115.00
2238 Transmitter, TQ 2.4GHz High Output with Traxxas Link, 2-channel high-output (transmitter only) $90.00
2218 Receiver, micro TQ 2.4GHz with Traxxas Link (5-channel) $45.00

I think the extra channels are just like power ports. On my baja my extra reviever ports I use for lights and a killswitch. Not a definite answer, just what im thinking.

Yes, it's a channel because if you plug a servo into it, the servo will center... I'm pretty sure they will release a 5 channel transmitter in a near future for the Summit, for example, so, we no longer need the T-Lock controller...

4 ch radio 5 ch reciever is because Traxxas has dual channel ones. So for trucks like the summit and e-maxx both steering servos have their own channel to plug into.
