    RC Solutions Roll Cage Update

I know there was a few guys asking how much the Roll Cage weighed for the ERBE and someone said they called RC Solutions and they told them it was 14oz, well that's WRONG, I just pulled mine off and weighed it and it was 5.9oz and I weighed it twice, that's the complete Roll Cage all put together ready to install on the truck. So maybe this will help the guys that are worried about the weight of there ERBE's.

I wonder how they could be so off with their weight. Non the less I'll have mine next week, should be a great addition to an already amazing truck.

Maybe they weighed a Revo 3.3 Roll Cage which has a lot more aluminum in it, I don't know, all I know is what I weighed and I used my shipping scale which weighs small items donw to the very oz. You guys will be very happy and impressed when you receive it.

BBBB what color is your cage? I wanted black but everyone was out of stock so I ordered silver. Do you think the silver could be painted black maybe with some paint designed for metal outdoor chairs?

All you need to do is prime it first with some Self-Etching primer, then spray it with your color of choice. I paint computer cases made of aluminum, this is no different.

I also prefer Krylon Flat Black or Semi-Gloss.

sand it first with 220 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

wear a breathing mask or paperfilter mask.

apply a coat of Self-Etching Primer (avl. at any autoparts store).

wet sand with 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

apply second coat of Self-Etching Primer.

wet sand with 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

then start applying paint of choice. (I prefer Krylon)

apply at least 4-5 coats, wet sanding between coats with 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

*** ALLOW COATS TO DRY BEFORE WET SANDING -- AT LEAST 45 minutes to an hour ***

Mine is Black, but on the other one, I painted with splatter Black paint and it came out good. I just painted the one, I didn't primer it, when the body is on nthere you can't even see it.

I have sanded/painted many aluminium PC case's, the proper job would be the steps I layed out, if you want to do a proper job that lasts.

But now that I remember this is a tiny R/C rollcage, just do what is easiest for you...
