    Discharging batteries

    My mini Revo is my first electric model, always have ran nitro before. I'm using the traxxas power cell batteries. Do I need to discharge the batteries before recharging or can I just run them all the way down with the car? Will it damage anything in the motor or esc by running the batteries low?

    Why is the hobby shop trying to sell me a discharger for? I know some people use them, are there any advantages of using them?
