    Slash PE 4x4

Got my Slash PE 4x4 this weekend and got it out on the track. This thing is a blast, and a very capable racer. One thing if you plan on racing you will definetly need the center diff, the handling is borderline uncontrolable without the diff (on the track). The slipper works fine for bashing and it is so easy to swap out the slipper/center diff you can easily switch between the two depending on where your running. I love this thing.

I wanted to get it out on the track right away so I bought a photographix Slash body and painted it a single color with a rattle can. And yes the PE comes with a clear body which I will take my time painting with Faskolor paints.

Here are some shots I took before it got all dirty. Definetly worth getting a PE if you have a radio and batteries. Most of the stuff are the cool cnc optional parts that just replace the stock plastic parts, but you get extras like the clear driveshaft cover and alloy shocks that are not on the standard 4x4. I noticed some of the parts you think they would just use from the standard 2wd Slash are actually redesigned and much stronger, good job Traxxas (driveshafts, output yokes).

Yup, rx box is water proof. The clear plastic driveshaft cover is cool, it will keep the rocks from jamming and scratching the driveshaft.

Actually the standard 4x4 comes with the clear driveshaft cover also.

If I already had a decent radio I would have jumped to the platinum.

That's cool, someone at the track said the RTR didn't come stock with it. But they are super handy for keeping rocks from jamming and scratching the driveshaft. Glad to hear they are all coming with the cover.

Ok, I'll ask as no one else has. How do they compare? I've seen videos of the Ofna on track and they are fast.

P.S. Thanks for the pics! You did a good job.

In my opinion the Jammin is a better racer (handles better, easier to drive fast, lower center of gravity) and the Slash 4x4 is a better all-purpose truck (more durable, better after market support, parts cost less, standard size wheels/tires, available everywhere). I had a lot of breakage on my Jammin where the Traxxas has been solid.

Thanks shark413 for your comparison. That is sorta what I figured but I'm glad you confirmed it.

I can't wait to see vids of them racing side but side. It's going to be an interesting year .
