    What charger should I get?

Hey I have a Sure Charge 1000 and it's pretty good, but I like to use that for my two batteries on my Slash 4x2. And I also got, , a E-Revo 1/16 . And it comes with a charger, but I use that for my E-Revo 1/16 . So for the 4x4 Slash, what charger should I get? I want it to be less than $40 and be REALLY good. Thanks.

    Really, are you kidding me.
I want it to be less than $40 and be REALLY good.
You don't want much. You better add a zero to that # if REALLY good is what your after. 40 will buy a power supply for a really good charger, but it wouldn't handle a REALLY good charger.

You better think about upping your budget. Or lowering your standards. But I would not bother with any charger that does not balance charge lipos.

BTW forum etiquette would say you have to wait longer then 1.5 hours before you bump your thread up

Well I'd only use NiMh batteries, so that cuts down the price. So is there any pretty good chargers that aren't for LiPos, only for NiMh?

may as well just buy another cheap $40 charger and use both of them at once. Youre not going to find what you are looking for at that budget unless you get REALLY lucky

+1 on the Oynx Chargers... I am pretty sure the Oynx210 is just slightly above $40 and should work VERY well for your needs...

I know this is $6.98 more than your budget but I have this charger and I will be buying a 2nd charger for my emaxx. It does ship from over seas, it took 3-4 weeks for me to get it to U.S. Missouri. Well worth the wait, cause of the cost and what it is capable of charging.

$40 is on the fairly wishful side for a "good" charger. If it were me, I'd save up for the Onyx 230. Around $80-90 depending on who has it, but it will charge NiMh ,as well as lipo if you ever upgrade to those. That way you won't be looking again if you go that route. All that would be needed then is a good balancer around $35 or so.

Thunder AC6 is like $60 and will charge LIPOS. I personally will never use NIMH again. LIPOS are awesome.

Hate the way NIMH can't keep that voltage up past the first X minutes...

I just went to my lhs and got the Slash 4x4 I also said I wanted another charger. He said that this one he gave me takes 45 mins to charge. I got it since I couldn't go back there. :P On the charger manual it said it charges 3000 mAh in 45 mins, 4000 in 60, and 5000 in 75. It's called a Sure Charge 1200. And it only costed 39.95

Oynx 230 Charger and a Blinky Balancer. It does em all!!

Is the combo I use and swear by!

Looking at about 100 bucks for both.
I use the balancer ever third charge. Some do it more some less...

For those of you with the ac6, someone told me the ******* accucel 6 from hobby city/king was the same charger. I know it has a different appereance, but can anyone confirm if they're the same or not?

The ******* accucel 6 does not have a power supply, while the AC-6 does. The accucel 6 is more like the Thunder T6. I dont know if they are the same or not but have seen the Accucel in use and seems very similar to the AC-6

The cheap $30 chargers at ********* work great and have balancer built in, but just check wattage needed to charge at highest rate you will charge. Thats the only difference between it and my $200 hyperion. Find the maxx watts, and do the math and see if it will charge for example....5amps at 11.1v (55 watts needed to do so). The only downside is, it wont charge at highest rate at the start, its not a huge difference honestly.

I think I'll be okay, I'm just using 7.4 volt 2s lipos, probaly 5000mah so I should charge at 5amps right? So that would be 50 watts.

yup, you should be pretty good. The lipos only charge at full steam for a short while anyway. They are cheap enough you can pick up a pair and have both going.
