To be completely honest with you. I think that when I get some cvd's for this truck it will be the perfect Monster Truck. I would very rarely pull out my ERBE to bash with in front of my house. This truck on the other hand I'll pull out everyday. We also have a great dirt bash spot and while the erbe was fun, I would always drive my stampede more. We do have a MERV as well and since december it hasn't even been looked at. Within the next few days I will have the 2wd version of this truck as well. We have pretty much quit racing slash trucks here so I will be putting my stock 4x4 vxl system into my 2wd slash and changing out the body and tires as well. My biggest hurdle now is that I can't decide what my next set of rims ant tires will be. I think you will be very pleased with the MT conversion. Just need some steel cvd's.

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking 30 series but it sucks there's no other wheel options for those size tires. I can possibly go for 3.2" MT size wheel but with tires on those it'll be over an inch taller than the 1/8th buggy ones I'm running right now. I know the MMM and the 2650kv will handle it... know about the axles though. I just weighed my Badlands on buggy wheels and it weighed in at 4.8oz each compared to about 10oz each for MT wheels with Badlands. Ouch. Do you know how much the 30 series weigh?

I see a bunch of 30 series Imex tires... do we have any other choices for 30 series wheels other than the Prolines?

Plenty to choose from. Who is gonna be the next to buy? Imex tires are awesome looking and have great traction but are soft and probably most suitable for off road and under 40mph. Pro line has almost nothing to choose from. Losi- I am not sure if their rims will work, but it would be awesome if they do. I am interested in their all terain tire.
    What do yall think?

Well they killed em alright... we already knew that was going to happen.

Looks like the IMEX Pluto's are the only ones with a wide offset... hopefully those use 17mm hexes. I'm probably going with the Badlands since I have them on just about every other RC I have.

maybe not... the 2.8" Pluto's use the smaller hex =( If I'm going to make this an MT I need something with a deep offset with a 17mm hex

Took my monster Slash 4x4 to the track today. VERY muddy. Of course I used all my camera battery power on the slick track and my spare battery was 70 miles back home on the computer table. The mud was thick.... here is the aftermath...

I only ran for about 10 minutes at the buggy track. The mud was soooo thick, it was up to my ankle. At one end of the track when I was on my first lap, the truck slowed to a stop. I was giving it throttle and the slipper was slipping and the tires were spinning. The truck was heavy from the extra mud already and it sank in it when I slowed for the corner. The mud was half way up the 30 series rims, I guess the chassis was acting like a boat. I got it out and stayed at the other end of the track until I broke the left rear outer slider shaft. I decided the mud was too thick to fix it and break another one.

Called Horizon and found out that the Losi rims will not work. They are the cross pin style. The Lost high roller tires will though. I'm gonna get the all terrains on Imex rims. The all terrains measure 5in tall and 2.5 wide and fit a 2.8 rim. The guy at Horizon actually measured them for me.

Round, I have successfully ran Losi pinned wheels on my Rustler before. Not sure if everything is the same, but IIRC on the Rustler you can just not use a hex, and use a washer for the nut side. This has been some time ago, so I'm not sure IIRC , it could have taken some drilling on the wheel or expansion of the wheel slot But it could be worth trying, if someone has an extra Losi wheel.

I can not spefically answer on those tires, however I have several sets of losi's that I have always been happy with. They are balanced, and don't tear apart under heavy loads. They are for my E-revo, but I would suspect qualty tires from them across the board.

these proline wheels you have listed are for the jato rear.

Whats the diff between the LXTYP2 and LXTYP1? I always thought that the electric fronts were the jato rears but now im questioning that. I have a set of 30 series torque wheels for my pede and it seems like the fronts will work fine on the front of my slash 4x4, i was going to get another set of fronts for the rear but the part number is different.

You are correct. The nitro(jato) rears are the same as the electric fronts. Wide offset
The electric rears are narrow offset and I am not sure what the Jato uses on the front.

Looks awesome. Is that outside stickers or are they glued in from inside? How do you install those tires on traxxas wheels? Is it as simple as folding the bead inward and into the slot?
    Thanks,

I didn't realize the Trazzas rims were built differently. I would recommend Traxxas tires on Traxxas rims and aftermarket tires on aftermarket rims. Also these Imex tires seem just a tad bigger on the ID, made it more of a pain. However, I mostly got the tires to lock in to the rims and I used a lot of glue.

The stickers are simple outside stickers, Tower carries the inside stick version of those though. Jackel Racing or something like that.

I got my XERun esc and Kershaw 9L motor today, those will be going in tonight. I'm also redoing the shocks with aluminum caps and linear springs. Will try to get more pics.

nice. just be careful, if you have to send it into traxxas, there is a sticker on the inside of the esc that if it changes colors its damaged by water, and htey wont replace it.

That would be traxxas's fault if water gets in the speed control, its "waterproof" not water resistant like they used to be. They better replace it if that happens.

So the shocks are for an E-Maxx. They look longer than Stock shocks. That must be where the height coms from.

super-maxx24-tires and shock look awesome. Do you plan on getting a truck body for it? I think I like your tires the best so far. They look like a great all around combo which is what I am shooting for right now.
