Just picked up this slash ultimate for a great deal on craiglist! For $285, I got it in almost new condition & it came with a set of bow-ties.

I picked up a Slash 4x4 last weekend, my first R/C vehicle, after my roommate bought a couple nitro truggies and a coworker ordered a 1:8 monster truck.

I think I have the bug because today I got an Onyx 235 charger, 5000mah 2c lipo, JConcepts overtray, Duratrax Pit Tech stand, and a replacement bumper in case one of my accidental nosedives breaks it.

I saw a thread on another forum of some guy who did his car up to look like an old beater, and thought it was a really neat idea.. so this year my military body finally bit the dust and thought i would paint up an old beater truck for my new one.. and here is it...






I realize its all shiny, but a few trips to the track and the glossiness will dull out and i think it will look even better when that happens..

Here is my first paint job. It looked nice for about five minutes. I bought the wrong kind of paint! DOH!

Here is my current setup with SC8e wheels and tires.
The extra weight of the wheelset, in my opinion, makes the truck more stable and it flips over less.
The stock big bores can't handle the extra weight though. I upgraded to LOSI Ten T shocks. However my Castle SCT combo crapped out. The motor output bearing failed and the ESC quick working. I have yet to test the new shocks though.
I sent my stuff to Castle on October 3rd and I have yet to get it back. They have yet to answer any of my email status inquiries too!

I am VERY happy with the way this new Flo-Tek turned out. I planned on going wingless, but doing the whole "Decepticon" theme forced me to use them. I'm diggin it big time.





Windows were done with VHT Niteshades, and the paint was backed with Dupli-color truck bed liner. Makes it pretty rigid, hope it works out well.

Here is my First Paint job for my new Slash 4x4. Candy blue Marble effect, silver and a metallic black. Turned out fairly well I think. And the back is duplicolors bedliner. Cut the overspray film out where I wanted bedliner, and sprayed on the outside.
