    Slash VXL and ABS...

Quick question before getting back to work.

I have a Slash with a VXL brushless system in it. Just rebuilt new trans in it, and tested it today at lunch... Works great, a little undergeared...

BUT... On my new radio, I decided to try out the ABS... It worked pretty darn good, only drawback that I saw was that it will "pulse" reverse after it stops. (And that it seems to run the battery down a little quicker, but not bad)

Today, I ran a 7 cell, 5000 Mah battery, and used full throttle and ABS as much as I could, and the motor was barely even warm after 20 minutes. I mean I could BARELY feel any warmness...

So, I going to gear it up some, (21t/83t now) but...

QUESTION... Will ABS hurt the ESC, or the motor? Seemed to do fine, but it's still pulsing the motor. It's not putting it in reverse till the truck stops, but it is pulsing reverse as soon as the truck stops...

EDIT: BTW... On pavement, ABS worked great... I could brake powerslide if I wanted to, but straight line breaking, no lock ups or unintentional brake slides... It did take a little longer distance to stop, but on the other hand, I can now go into a hard turn so much faster now since the rear end isn't locking up and sliding.

Haven't tried it in the park / gravel / dirt yet...

Is that ABS, as in Anti-Lock Brakes? If it is I had no idea that could be done...

I haven't tried it on my slash, but works great on my 8T and Slayer!

That is the best idea ever. Is the pulse rate adjustable?

No, ABS like on a car. It pulses the brake signal to keeps the brakes from locking up.

Yes, Auto Brake system like a car, but it can't sense if you lock the brakes, it can only pulse the brakes low, normal, or fast...

But, either in the slash manual, or the radio manual, it did say not to use ABS with the ESC...

    But it works so good!!!!

Now, I don't think I would have a bit of a problem if I set the ESC to forward only with brakes... It's just a little weird how it also pulses reverse after truck stops completely. Pulsed reverse is only like 2 MPH!

Like I said, ESC or motor did not even get warm...

FYI, it stands for Anti-lock brake system, not auto brake system.

its really not ment for electric !!! its ment for nitro or 1/5th scale cars i wouldent used it on electric , if you read your book that comes with most BL systems it tells you to disable the ABS on the radio , and i think thay tell you that for a reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU CANT FIX IT DONT BUY IT !

OK...ok... I turned it back off...

I did adjust the braking end point to barely lock up the brakes, and it's much better than it was...
