Quick question before getting back to work.
I have a Slash with a VXL brushless system in it. Just rebuilt new trans in it, and tested it today at lunch... Works great, a little undergeared...
BUT... On my new radio, I decided to try out the ABS... It worked pretty darn good, only drawback that I saw was that it will "pulse" reverse after it stops. (And that it seems to run the battery down a little quicker, but not bad)
Today, I ran a 7 cell, 5000 Mah battery, and used full throttle and ABS as much as I could, and the motor was barely even warm after 20 minutes. I mean I could BARELY feel any warmness...
So, I going to gear it up some, (21t/83t now) but...
QUESTION... Will ABS hurt the ESC, or the motor? Seemed to do fine, but it's still pulsing the motor. It's not putting it in reverse till the truck stops, but it is pulsing reverse as soon as the truck stops...
EDIT: BTW... On pavement, ABS worked great... I could brake powerslide if I wanted to, but straight line breaking, no lock ups or unintentional brake slides... It did take a little longer distance to stop, but on the other hand, I can now go into a hard turn so much faster now since the rear end isn't locking up and sliding.
Haven't tried it in the park / gravel / dirt yet...
