    Sssnnnooowww!!!

It has been snowing here in Reno for the last two days...

I finished water proofing my Revo and thought what a better way to test it.

Unfortunately I had no one to take some action photos while in the snow but here is the aftermath, covered in that weird white stuff

Lasted about 35 minutes until I hit the LVC and called it a day, whole time motor ran normal, esc normal, and servo as well. Ran cool as well, wonder why? Wish I had some paddles...

Crazy to hear that you have snow in Reno and we have yet to get a dump up here in Kelowna BC...it's coming!! I'm interested in hearing what others (including yourself) have done to keep the snow away from the esc?

I followed Squirrels video except I brushed on Plastidip instead of liquid tape. Then I dipped the Hitec servo. Works really well, I coated it a few times so I felt secure.

The Badlands did well, I am running Long travel rockers so I have a bit more clearance which I think helped the most. It got stuck a few times when the snow was too thick were the wheels couldn't get enough traction.

As for the snow, we get it here once in a while most of the time it comes all at once and then thats about it. That is, in the valley, Reno is less than a few miles away from famous ski resorts, it usually snows in the mountains all the time.

Bet driving would be even better in the snow if you turned those mashers backwards.

Rather than let the snow melt and air dry, blow the snow off with an air compressor (if you have one). Much less water to wipe off and clean up.

It been at least a weeks it snowed here in Quebec , Canada and i got my Mini E-revo Vxl friday, Snow is definitely fun ! the merv is just a little too small for deeper snow but im sure the 1/10 is perfect for this.

My merv looks exactly like your pic after a fun run

In the old days we used to spray our distibuters on our cars with silicon spray and it kept the moisture out of it, but I would think that or WD-40 would work, it's not like your driving through puddles.

If your motor/esc heat up to 110+ degrees and snow gets on it like in the first picture the snow will melt pretty fast and turn into a bit of water

that looked fun...i don't wanna run my truck in the powder snow too much...I'd rather run it in the hard packed..less chance of it ending up inside the truck or battery compartments

I wouldn't think that this would void your warranty. The stuff peels right off. If anything does happen, peel off all the rubbery stuff you can get off and send it in. That is what I plan on doing if it fails which it hasn't yet.

Another thing I used was marine grease, I coated the horn and gears inside the servo so that the tiny gap that is around the horn and the servo casing is semi-sealed to water.

Wait, Whats this white stuff? And its falling from the sky! But its not stopping, what could it be? SNOW! lol we had sleet for a couple hours and now its snowing. Its slowed down some but we have about 1 inch of snow/sleet mix everywhere. Roads are horrible which is good for me. More fun with the erbe and school delays possibly! Man I love fort wayne. But knowing our indiana weather it will rain and all be gone by morning

Sleet is a nasty word. If we had that here I would move. I drive a Toyota Yaris and it does fine in the snow but not on Ice. I wish my car was more like my E-Revo, seems that the Revo has not found a surface it can not run on... Yet! When the snow melts, usually the first day the sun comes back out from behind the clouds it melts things just enough for it to re-freeze at night. Therefor we get some ice, but I fear sleet. I just remember back when the east coast got hit bad with that stuff and all those people where stuck in there homes with no power burning their furniture to survive. No thanks I'll pass.

I got the next two days off... I'll try to jimmy-rig a snow video if I can. Or at least some action pictures.

Get a shower cap and install it over the chassis under the body, simple and very effective...

Won't the esc/motor overheat from lack of airflow?
