2wd tires and rims on the 4x4

Will the stock tires and rims for the 2wd fit without any modifications on the 4x4?

    Thanks!

IDK.... I was going to order the JC ones... But I don't know if they'll fit. SO I'm waiting on wheels and tires until the 4x4 is in my hands. Which I hope is soon.

The wheels on the Slash 4x4 are the same as the REAR wheels on the Slash 2wd. So 2 sets of slash rear wheels would be what you need for the slash 4x4.

Anything that fits the rear of the Slash 2wd will fit the Slash 4x4. I am going with the JConcepts. Was told by my lhs I'd have my Slash 4x4 Dec 15. Going crazy. lol

How about using the same offsets from the back 2wd tires on the front of the new 4x4? Or is there a different size hex for the rear 2wd tires?

i believe the jconcepts tense wheels are the same size for all four wheels , not 100% sure on that but id like to know if they would fit aswell before they go up in price when the 4wd comes out.

    Newbie,

If they are the same size hexes, that means that the 2wd wheels will work, right?

2wd has same size hexes front and rear but diffrent offsets. the rear offset for the rear 2wd is the same as 4wd front and rear. and the only stupid question is the one you dont ask...

Im using the Losi Switch tires on HPI Wheels, for my 4x4 slash when it comes in. I have the tires all ready to do and they look pretty nice together.

I picked up a set of trepador tires as well, but im using thoes on my E-Slayer because they look like they will provide great traction for the higher speeds, and heavier truck.

But, its winter here until may anyhow, so i wont be able to test for a while :P

So all I need for my 2wd front tires are a pair of rear offsets (the same as the rear 2wd) and they will work with the Slash 4x4 all around, right?

yes, rear wheels from 2wd slash will be the proper offset for all four wheels on the 4x4 slash (both have the same hex size)

Does anyone know how I can tell the different offsets? I bought a 2x4 Slash a couple of months ago and a full set of Proline wheels from my lhs. Since then I have sold the Slash but I still have 4 brand new tires/wheels. What I didn't realize is that the 2x4 Slash actually had different offset wheels!

This is what my set LOOKS LIKE that I currently have but all 4 tires show a model:1076. Nothing on the wheels that I can see.

On Towerhobbies link I grabbed the rear link but the front link is also the same except for the description and model numbers showing a rear / front model.

I called AKA and talked to them about tires and rims for the new Slash and also the hex adapters. They told me the hex adapters for the front of the 2WD Slash will give me the 1/2" offset I'm looking for to get a wider stance. I'm about to order CityBlock soft compound fitted on AKA short course wheels. Hopefully all of this will work the way I want!!

I know the stock traxxas wheels have Front or Rear molded into the back side of the whee. Check and see if proline did the same thing, that would be your easiest way to go about it.

Thanks. I was always looking at the tire and not the rim itself since it was so small of a writing that I didn't even notice it.

That worked!! I now know which 2 are front and rears. I guess now I need to go sell my front unused tires/rims to someone since I cannot use them on my new Slash 4x4 I ordered.

    Thanks again for the response.

I assume they will fit, since they are used in the review that Radio Control Car Action did on the Slash 4x4
