flashing red light on speed controller - help

    Hi

Just bought a brand new Rustler VXL and noticed that after running car mildly, the VXL-3s is blinking red. ( pulse every 1.5 sec) The battery is a brand new 4200 NiMh 7.2V I am able to run the car for approx 30 min. Car seems to be running good with no loss of power until battery is finally dead after 30 min. Motor doesn't seem to be too hot. Any help / explanation would be appreciated.

    Thx
    Stan

Did you turn the LVC off? When you turn the ESC on there should be a "Solid Red" light indicating the LVC is off for running NIMH batteries.

No. I have just taken the car out of box and put charged battery in. The car is responding to the transmitter becacuse it is turning and accelerating etc.

Turn it on. Then press and hold the button for 10 seconds like steve said, you should hear a descending tone from the motor, then let off the button and the light should be red, and that's it.

It's for Lipo packs. You don't want a lipo pack to get below 3.2V per cell so when the pack gets there it drops the power to the motor so you know when to stop running.

Lipos are more volatile than NIMH's if you get a cell below 3.2V in a lipo pack it could severely damage the cell.

    LVC (Low Voltage Cutoff)
